Hi all, I need your knowledge again.

I started using Oestrogel last month and then 15 days after starting it, I took 2x 100mg Utrogestan tablets for 12 days. I have only had a very small period once or twice in the last year, so I have no 'cycle' as it were. How do I calculate when the next day 15 will be for me to start the Utrogestan again?

I am feeling quite good on this regime so far and don't want to get it wrong.

Once you stop taking the utrogestan, you should get a bleed a few days later so the first day of your bleed will be day 1. Start taking it again on day 15 of that cycle and so on. If you don't get a withdrawal bleed, the easiest thing to do is start taking the utro on the same day of each month.

Hope that helps x

Thank you so much Bandango! I am pretty sure I won't get a bleed (just a gut feeling) but that is very helpful advice.

You're welcome 😊 you are also very lucky if you don't get a bleed, I wish I didn't!

Hiya,

I'd get small note book and write down 1-14 down the left side of a page and 15 -28 down the middle. Next to the numbers write the date starting with the first date you started the Oestrogel on day 1. From day 15 - 26 make a note to take the progesterone on those dates.

On the next page repeat the format continuing with the corresponding dates from page 1. And so on. Does that make sense?

It may seem a faff but at least you can see where you are and you can also makes corresponding notes to see when you bleed or have symptoms and see if any patterns emerge. If nothing else it's really useful reminder to refer back to when you speak to your GP .

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Thanks very much Dotty. For some reason, I have produced this topic thread twice!!  I think keeping a diary is useful advice.

Hi just start taking it on the same date of every month.or do two weeks on and two weeks off. They are the easiest ways of taking Utrogestan.
