How were you during your menstruating years? Did you have cyclical symptoms? Mine were: I would have 1 good week, the rest were hormonal. The night B4 a bleed started I would sob, even if a period wasn't due
. In the 2/3 days prior to a bleed I would be desperately thirsty, I would buy celery to stand in water simply to eat to get rid of the thirst.
Your body needs liquids in order to survive. How is your diet overall? Do U have a 'bug' because if the body craves energy and/or liquids, it will go into defence mode which can include 'flu-type symptoms. I don't think that 1 can have too much oestrogen in the form of 'overdose'. The levels drop off naturally at peri so HRT may balance hormones, however: if the body doesn't require it, 1 can feel ill.
In your situation I would wean off all HRT to C where my body was in terms of requirements. Let us know how you get on.
I have never had the weird postural hypotension, heart fluttery feelings, that's only been since March. Sadly in all that time it's not been possible to sort it out with the doctor, but I did have a bereavement in the middle of all that.
Now my estradiol has been lowered to 75, the postural hypotension isn't happening to the point of being disabling, it was before. I would get out of my car to go in a shop and realise I couldn't do it. The feelings wouldn't be fleeting like they normally are and a general feeling my heart couldn't keep up with my movements, but also very migrainous with it.
In view of it reducing along with reduction in estradiol I think there's my answer. My estradiol was higher than that of a 30 year old woman in ovulation.
I'm now going to reduce further but graduall.
The dehydration seems to be a feature of the estradiol phase as well. I'm on my third estradiol patch, one more to go and in this week I will easily dehydrate, even if I'm trying to keep fluids up.
Once I go onto the combined patch next week I will be well hydrated, skin looks better, more energy, happier, everything flows.
I do wonder if I should be on the combined conti patch, but something in me still questions it. Nature gave us a cycle. If we are replacing what nature originally gave us, surely we should replace a cycle. I know everyone has their own views on that, but it's a question I have currently. We all have our own path through this.
Oh I get the thirst thing! The night before my period I would drink a whole lake if I could. It's that bad. I asked the doctor if I could be diabetic just for a short period each month but he insisted no, that's not how it works. I always know when my period will start because of the amount of water I drink the night before.
Back to what you said about oestrogen and 'overdose.' I know what you are saying because hrt is just to balance it, but it does seem my levels were extremely high for the standard hrt dose. The doctor wants me to go back down to 50 estradiol, I believe the standard dose is 100.
I'll get it down and then do blood tests again. Thanks CLKD. I do have an infection atm, but agree dehydration and stress are not helping. I also think the infection may have brought on anxiety (when I was a child my mother knew if I was 'sickening for something' by my level of anxiety, lol), so now it's getting better maybe I will calm down.
Thanks for listening
