Hi, been told the testim gel is not available and can have testogel sachet or androfemme cream.

Wondering if the cream would be better as not as fiddly/as much faff as dealing with a sachet over 8 days. 

What have other testim gel users done?

Not a direct answer to your question, sorry.
I use Tostran which comes in a pump dispenser, so not a faff at all and it's pretty cheap and available on NHS. The usual starting dose is one pump 3x per week or every other day.
It works well for me x

Hi Nik, do you measure it out or do you just guess an amount like with the gel? The cost does put me off a bit as I guess it would be better to stay with it rather than going back to gel again afterwards.

tostran wasn’t mentioned so I will ask.  I saw a private menopause specialist to get testosterone and have my 3 month apt coming up.  GP then said she would be happy to prescribe testosterone going forwards but it would be testogel sachets, but I don’t fancy dealing with sachets and sealing them with clips! So maybe tostran is an option. I will ask and see what response I get. Do you not feel surges/dips not using it every day?

No, I was concerned about peaks and dips, but I really can't tell the difference day to day in how I feel. The effects on me have been a dramatic change in libido and sexual function and a subtle change in concentration and mood.
I got the initial prescription privately, I think the actual Tostran was about £30 and lasts about 6 months. Each local formulary lists different types of testosterone gel as available for women. I checked online to see what could be prescribed on NHS locally and Tostran was the only one on my local formulary list, so that's what I requested from the private specialist.
 My GP seems to stick to the formulary list to the letter, but my specialist told me that when she's seeing her NHS general practice patients, she does what she thinks is best for them even if it goes against the local formulary. So it might depend a bit on the attitude and confidence of your GP too.

I use the tostran pump and I got it through the nhs, I was never told how to use it but I dispense a full pump and then take a pea sized blob from that, it does seem a waste but I think for me a whole pump would be too much and make me a tad irritable, having said that I've never noticed any difference in libido or energy, am I right though that I've heard it converts to estrogen too ?
