My son played football at that place where the children died on the lake. So so sad.  :'(
When we were children, remember the advertisements on tele about the warnings of frozen water and a-likes, even one about going off with strangers.?
They need to put those back on the tele, drum it into kids about these dangers I think. 🤷🏼‍♀️ …just a thought! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m good today, slept really well last night, so bonus. 👍

When I mentioned similar to my daughter re the grandchildren she said any warnings would now have to be shown through a different medium as they don’t watch tele as we do anymore.  Sure it could be done though.

I agree, I remember those ads too jillydoll, even if the kids don't see them, maybe it would remind parents to drum it into their children? Maybe adverts on Instagram or Snapchat or something? I'm not on any social media so not sure if it's an option.
Poor kiddies,it's heartbreaking  :'(

Where were the parents?   :'(. So sad, how does an adult 4give themselves for turning their backs on their children.

Growing up in the Fens we knew not to go into water or walk on the ice.  Bend she bears, cracks she breaks!  Same with jumping into cold water, we simply 'knew' - I remember from an early age my Dad explaining why not to .........

Me - OK thus far.  Tnx.

It said on the radio today that the 11 year old boy tried to save the younger ones, but sadly, he lost his life.
Tragic. 😢
We still don’t know how they came to get onto the lake in the first place.
Maybe in the coming days we’ll find out.

The Police have continued walking that Lake but state that they aren't looking for anyone else. So why  :-\.  Surely parents would have come out to say kids are missing, unless there is a 'care' issue .  Hopefully no one else will be found.

How can any1 suggest that the boy was 'going in to rescue others' when there were no adults present?  His aunt has apparently put this on FB ....... hopefully the little one in Hospital will recover enough to get at least part of the truth.

Me - DH is out on the road so my anxiety levels are rising.  Bright ☀️ when he left an hour ago, trying to snow now  >:(

He's back .........  ;)

 >:( struggling  >:( ........ it's That Time of Year  :-X and I have committed myself to dog sitting next week.  Why does anxiety get the better of me  :'( ......... why can't I be normal  :-\ :'(

You really can't teach stupid  >:(

People have risked their lives by ignoring warnings and playing on frozen lakes in South Yorkshire, the fire service has said.

Fire crews said they were "very concerned" by signs of activity on one icy lake in Arksey, Doncaster.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Despite our warnings, photos taken today suggest people are still playing on the ice."

Adults were asked to urge children they knew to keep away from frozen lakes.

The fire service said they should "speak to the youngsters in your life and urge them to stay well away".

How can I put this ladies?!……….
I have got a butt that is achy  :o ……..The Cockapoo pulled me off my feet, I slipped on some black ice and down I went.  Did anyone see?  was the only thing going through my head, whilst scrambling to my feet, holding my behind!..
Oh no, I thought, school’s just broken for lunch! A “darling” little chap said…….
“Are you ok Mrs?” before holding his stomach with laughing so much, the little s**t  >:(
I am now going to sulk in a Radox bath 🛁

Oh no!  Did you fall on your tailbone? I've done that and was really painful.  You might have just suffered a bruise on the behind? Hope the bath helps!  Kids can be mean sometimes, they don't understand how much it hurts falling on ice.

It surprised me how many bits ached or bruised after my fall 11 years ago, onto my face: shoulders, tops of the arms, thighs  :o

:foryou:  any excuse for a Radox bath, me ;-) but not a fall.

I am fine.  Tnx.
