Was at the GP today getting another couple of  skin spots checked. I've been like blooming Poirot, scrutinising my whole body after having a basal cell carcinoma removed in November. It turns out it is seborrhoeic keratosis (easy for me to say!  :o).  Apparently very common in "older people" said the young buff GP  >:(....
What he did say was that fluctuating oestrogen can cause this in women. Bloody menopause again  :o

How's your Mum Songbird?

Up earlier than usual  :D
After breakfast into town: both had a haircut; Screwfix, Waitrose, B&M - we know how to live  ;D
Light lunch
Sorted bird feeders

🔥 lit.  Feet up.  Daily paper to read.

Was your GP reassuring?

Thanks for asking CLKD. Mum is slowly getting there. Carers have withdrawn as she's coping better. Just needs to identify which foods are going to cause diverticulitis flare-ups - it's nasty!
My GP was good actually. Thankfully, that skin condition is benign so all good 👍

Is there a dietician available to talk to your Mum Songbird?

I could sleep.  So, so tired.

Songbird, keep her away from anything likely to stick in the diveticulae,so no seeds, like in bread etc,my last flare up was because I'd eaten a snowball (the sweet kind, not the frozen   ;D ) and it was the desiccated coconut that did it

Geez, that's interesting Jaypo. She loves a snowball too  :o

Actually yes, CLKD, dietician is popping out to the house next week so that will be useful. So far, chocolate has been identified as a no no for her. God, I'd be devastated 😫.
Doing all the walks with the cockapoo today (he expects 4 walks a day 😲) as OH feeling a bit off so I'm getting my steps in for sure ;D

Oh I hated it when any of ours was away at the Vets even for grooming  :-\

I've had half a 'wispa' and now my guts are rumbling  >:( [see my thread on Cadburys]

That's good that your Mum is being advised Songbird.  mayB enquire if 'live' foods would suit ....... even something soothing like 'actimel' to ease the digestive tract.  Let us know how she gets on!

Fed wil birds - that's it until mid-morning.  Kitten kept me company, upsetting the wren. Criky that bird can nag

Up earlier than usual  :o

Spent a long time on the toilet  >:(  ::)

Had my shingles jab at 10.45, then into the shops for 'stuff'
Home for light lunch [pork dripping on new bread]

Fed wild birds

Yesterday began sorting through boxes hidden in the spare room  :-\ - now I have to find places for it all  >:(
If I can get lots from 5 boxes into 3 that will be a start - charity shop here I come!

Fire lit.  Feet up.

Home for a cuppa by the ponds, planning.  Laundry on.  Must change into gardening jeans and Get On!

Geez, all of the sayings that my old granny used to come out with are all coming true, like..
"Old age doesn't come itself!"
Off I went for an eye test today - I wasn't due until next year but felt there was a change in my right eye. The back of the eye scan showed a small macular hole (which affects central vision). Thankfully doesn't cause blindness but may need surgery!

It's all or nowt!  How's your Mum?

There is a macular degeneration support group if you want to have a lookC.  What did the opthamologist suggest, watch and wait or get onto a Waiting List?

It's a monitoring situation for now, CLKD. I've to go back in 6 months. Apparently NHS won't look at you unless it's really bad! Geez, I'll need to wait until I'm walking into lampposts before they see me 🤪.
Mum's doing quite well thanks 😊.  The dietitian told her she'd have to eat a bit more and to include cakes! Geez, she's happy about that  ;D
