That's a win-win then  ;D.  Keeping away from as much processed stuff as possible?

It's a bit like chronic kidney disease, until I am gasping for breath the NHS aren't interested!

My Aunt had macular degeneration but it was back in the day when they couldn't do much, apparently if it's caught quickly it can be repaired,so well done for noticing songbird.
Went to the garden centre today, got a nice fern for one of my pots 🍀☘️🪴

U know how to live ;-).  Reminds me that yesterday I topped up the 3 level fern tower - I put fine grit round the roots, flicking out the odd black slug into the compost bin first.

Put another log on the 🔥

Tell you what, Jaypo, I felt as if I hadn't quite taken in all that the optometrist said today so I phoned her and asked for a bit more info. Turns out it's macular traction i have, which is better than a hole or degeneration (apparently)  :o so hopefully no surgery 🤞.
I wish I was green-fingered. Plants don't do well in my care  ;D
Mind you, I bought some lovely lilac-coloured scented stocks from Tesco today (just £3 😲) and they really cheer up my kitchen.

Well done Songbird - asking the question to get a reply that helps, it's a lot to take in during an appt.

As for plants: the problem people make is usually over watering  ::).  I've been known to kill cactii  :o

Overwatering, I'm sure, is exactly what I do, CLKD  :o
I had a beautiful orchid. The blooms eventually fell off. My SIL insists that it'll bloom again and I've not to throw it out?! I've no clue 🤷‍♀️

I've never got orchids to bloom again, I gave ours away in November on a house plant free-2-good-home site  ;D

Off for my bubble bath, cuppa and good book to hand.

Don't over water it jaypo - but don't let it dry out in the pot.  What type of soil have you put it into, with some grit?

Not a lot yet.  Out of bed, breakfast to hand.  Fed siskins .........

If possible put 'feet' under the pot to allow water to drain, also tip it slighty on2 1 side so that the plant isn't standing in sodden soil.

More sorting of pots: removing the plant with soil to see whether there's life left, if not into the compost: pot/s into the bucket to be recycled at the garden centre.

Cuppa by the pond listening to the 50+ siskins chattering.
