I've been on sea buckthorn for just over a week now and I'm already seeing a difference with the vaginal dryness (but not so much the eyes - never mind, downstairs is more important!). I just hope it continues - I'm just about to buy a much larger packet.

It is wonderful you have already seen an improvement with the vaginal dryness.  :)

Excellent nicodemus.

What dose are you taking? If you motive a difference, I'm sure the eyes will come.

I'm taking it more for my nose/sinuses and I think it helps, but I'm only taking half the recommended dose. I wonder if I should increase.

I've decided it didn't cause my eyelid irritation after all. Probably just hay-fever, but because my nose is a, lot better, it didn't seem like hay-fever  ;D

It is good to hear this did not cause the irritation on your eye lids. I have started taking 2 tablets a day but not noticed an improvement in my dry eyes. Maybe it will take time.

Excuse my ignorance flossie, but what do dry eyes feel like??

To me they feel like there is no moisture in my eyes. They feel sore and dull, sometimes a bit gritty. I hope I have explained that okay.

Yes perfect. That's what I expected. Just checking my eyelid allergy is not dryness  ;)

Oh good. Have you spoken to your GP because maybe they can give you some special cream for your eye lids.

No. To be honest I've had it before. It's just been mightily bad this year. But the weather's been good and I live rural. It's calming now.

I'm on strong antihistamines every day anyway. Just don't seem to have helped that.

I have tons of allergies, so it's not unexpected.  ;D

I sympathise. I have a few allergies and my partner seems to be allergic to everything. Maybe some gentle cream such as E45 could help a little to soothe the skin. I hope the itching and dryness goes away soon.

Hi CrispyChick. At the moment I am taking 2 x 1000mg capsules twice a day as they recommend that for 2 weeks initially. In a few days I will go down to 1 x 1000mg twice a day as I will have been taking it for a fortnight by then. I am taking the Pharmanord ones.

Ah. That's the one I'm on. Maybe I should up the dose. I did start on the loading dose but got a uti and, rightly or most probably wrongly, blamed the omega 7. So dropped down to 1 tablet.

Hi ladies

So I’ve been on the sea buckthorn oil for about six weeks now and am pleased to say they are really helping my eyes do not run as much and are not as dry and itchy except when my hormones change.

I hope everyone else has some success too.

That's brilliant. What dose are you taking smokey???

I went back on it but I'm only on one tablet a day. Not actually sure what I'm taking it for - I think it was fir my sinuses. Perhaps I should save some pennies and drop it for the time being. Not sure.

Actually, I've not had a, bad sinus issue for a while. Maybe I'll stay on it  ;D

I think I thought it would be a good preventer of VA. Should that arise... 🤣

I have been taking the PharmaNord Sea Buckthorn for 2-3 years now. I take it for my dry eyes along with Hycosan night gel and it seems to have helped.

I started HRT 15 months ago and hopefully that helps the dry eye also. Infact I reduced the sea buckthorn to 2 a day recently (instead of 4) partly because of cost and partly because I had been taking so many supplements pre-HRT I am trying to reduce/eliminate them to see if I still need them all. My Holland & Barrett bill is a shocker even with all their offers and discounts.

So far (fingers crossed) I haven't experienced any vaginal dryness yet so maybe a combo of the sea buckthorn and HRT is helping stave this off.

Crispychick I’m taking 1000mg once each day.

I’ve just got to get some evening primrose oil now for my painful breasts.
