She wouldn't discuss the meno issues as well as the urticaria so have to go back but definately not with her. The prob is its large areas of urticaria and you can't use betnovate on large areas :-\ any way I've put on wrists and  behind ears. I'm so tired and now waiting for this va to kick off again

The Dr sounds so unhelpful. Both of the issues are connected so they really should have discussed both. I really hope you can find a new GP. Does this mean you do not know if the estidol cream is causing the reaction? If it is the condition the Dr mentioned then would it be okay to use the cream?

She wouldn't discuss it so I don't know. She said don't use it over the telephone yesterday. I'm going to try and get this urticaria under control and then ask for an appointment with gp interested in menopause because she clearly wasn't she wanted to know my hobbies and said have a nice afternoon as I itched my way out. I have thought about gettibg an appt wit Dr Newson privately. I'm so fed up. For all I know this could be a virus.

I can understand your disappointment. To ask you if you have any hobbies is dismissive. Just to let you know, you can ask Dr Currie a question via email. She is the person who set up this forum. She charges £30. Here is a link

Hi Alfiebo,

It seems that hives can be a symptom of Covid- 19! (And diarrhoea, which I think you’ve also mentioned.)

Here is the info about hives:

https://casereports.bmj.com/content/14/3/e241793

Hope this might help!

What a carry on. So sorry to read what happened this morning, Alfie.
I was hoping you would have been sorted out by now.
Are you still in as much discomfort?
Please let us know how you are getting on.

Sending very best wishes. x

I can imagine how uncomfortable that is for you. Have you looked up urticaria to find out how others manage the symptoms? I saw there was information on the NHS website.

AlfieBo, it sounds like some kind of histamine intolerance or mast cell activation syndrome issue to me. Have you looked into that?

Google the words 'Tina Peers estrogen histamine intolerance' and then basically google Tina Peers and read/watch everything she has to say.

She also has her own private menopause clinic which specialises in HRT and histamine intolerance. If I need estrogen again I will try to see her or someone at her clinic next time, instead of Newson. Because my Newson doctor was useless with my estrogen related side effects, even after telling her I'd been to A&E....

Hi well got about 3 hours sleep. Spots worse but now looks like erythema multiform which I had 2 years ago. Its horrible and can be a reaction to a virus or medication. Looking at estriol side effects one is erythema multiform. Takes weeks to go and can make you feetl very tired. So I've rung in sick  and done an e consult with gp to ask for second opinion from one given by the unhelpful gp yesterday daughter is coming to take Alfie out as I need to keep out of the sun. Feel poorly and anxious. Alfie is tired as he was wondering why mum was in the shower at 3 this morning.   :'(

I really am sorry to hear this. Are there any specialists in erythema multiform? I wonder if a specialist needs to monitor any medication you are on so you do not have this reaction again. I hope you hear from the GP soon and they are more helpful. Maybe you could ask to be referred to a specialist.

I hope you get an appointment soon. I can understand why you are anxious about VA flaring. Do you think it would help to find a support group or similar? Maybe the women on there could share tips on how they treat their VA symptoms.

It is lovely to read you are finding the forum helpful.  :) The hot weather will be making you feel worse too. It is very draining.

Hi have you been covered from head to foot in hundreds of urticaria splodges asxwell? In my hair down below swollen hands. As not sure what I'm reacting to think I will wait until  I get 2bd opinion from Gp practice. Who still haven't responded to my e consult I sent at 5 this morning. Did a bit more researching erythema multiform can come from Thrush and I'm just wondering if I had that  at the start of all this. This heat isn't helping.
