Fatigue after covid
« on: April 12, 2022, 04:30:14 PM »

Ladies .. anybody else had covid recently ? Tested positive  2 weeks ago but still struggling with really bad fatigue … the tiredness is just awful . Can barely keep my eyes open and it feels like I'm walking through treacle .  Is this normal two weeks after being infected ?  X

I think if your body is feeling so drained probably the best thing is to rest as much as you can, frustrating as it is. I'm sure you'll recover faster if you take it easy.

It's a virus.  It's what all viruses 'do', this isn't any different to seasonal 'flu.  When I had it in March 1988 and again in March 1989, I slept; ached; felt weary for 10-14 days.

Listen to your body!  If it wants rest, then rest.  That is when the body repairs itself.

When tired I can sleep at any time of day as well as through the night.  Keep hydrated.  Take Paracetamol and sleep.

Two weeks is early days, your body has gone through a battle and needs to recover. Dont under estimate covid, it might be a bit of a cold symptom for some but for most it's not. If you're at work still and can't rest during the day, go to bed as early as possible, eat as healthy as you can and take vitamins to supplement your diet until you feel better.
I was still working and we had just gone into lockdown the first time I had it so could work from home. Second time was this Christmas so off work anyway, but no way would I have been able to go back after 5 days negative or not.Take time off to recover if you need to, you dont want it turning into long covid.

Thanks you so much ladies for your replies ! Yes .. i guess  i need to be kind to myself , not easy when you're always bottom of the list .  I can now really sympathise with my cousin who has thyroid and suffers from fatigue . Now i understand how different it is from just feeling tired . Yes … we shouldn't  under estimate covid because this is horrible . Thanks ladies xxx

My husband & I are both on week 3 and still drained.  Talking to others who have had it, the consensus seems to be that it takes a minimum of a month to recover, even if you've had it mildly.

Dorothy … thank you for this , as i was getting worried . My brother has it and all he has is a dull head . Its strange isn’t  it how differently we all react. Right…,  so feeling this bad two weeks in isn't so uncommon . X

Nellie, I tested positive 3 weeks ago, still exhausted especially first thing!  I feel low too but I’m having hormones issues on top.  Isn’t it supposed to affect estrogen??  I’m taking an immune booster from Dr Wolz, he wud need to start working soon lol xxx

Am bleeding when i shouldn't ,  feeling low , and still obviously tired . And my tummy is really off ! Terrible reflux … how does covid effect oestrogen ?? Im on hrt so could it be that it has stopped working ? Jeez ! As if covid alone wasnt bad enough !

It is well known that C-19 upsets hormone levels.

The advice is to rest as much as possible. It is affecting everyone differently.

Yes covid does affect estrogen, think it’s related to immune system using it.  I was affected badly by vaccine and was v slowly clawing my way back when I then got Covid so sweats, palps, low mood, headaches, anx came back full on! It’s a  nightmare how all this impacts on hormones. Pharmacist who had Covid recommended that Dr Wolz zell oxygen liquid and a high vitamin C drink called URGENT - C (PRO-VEN Probiotics).  There is a video on Covid & vaccine effects on Estrogen receptors by Nick Panay & Diane Danzebrink think on Utube.  Hope this helps anyone struggling!
It’s doing my head in that’s for sure🥲xxx
