Help with morning anxiety?

Hi all

Does anyone have any tips or medication advice on how to stop morning anxiety?
I'm waking up every morning with fear and dread.
I don't know if this contributes or not but I have a tenancy every night as in early hours of eating alot of chocolate....

If you are eating a lot of chocolate late at night and, if I understand you, during the night, all this is going to do is give you an immediate feelgood response, a sugar rush or "high" from which you have to come down later. The more chocolate you have, the greater the "crash" which will affect you, potentially quite dramatically, in terms of mood. So much chocolate will be adding to how your body is struggling with your current regime/ADs.

Vicky. Without a doubt the prog (very low dose in my case) is causing my anxiety in the morn.

If you can hold out until you finish your utro stage, then reassess???

Morning Vicky,
Are you starting to feel a little better / noticing any changes (even tiny ones) yet? You’re nearly at the end of the Utrogestan so you might see some big changes this week.
I don’t keep chocolate in the house as I’d do the same as you!
I *think* your consultant is trying to override your own cycle and that approach has helped me.

Ladies. I'm the exact same with the choc. Excessively eat it at night. Interestingly I've not wanted to do it since starting my prog treatment...

I’m exactly the same this month CrispyChick! Changed how I take prog and the difference is huge.

Jaypo - yes i already bought that same magnesium...but not helping the fear feeling on waking.

victoriaV - No not feeling any better really.
 
Crispychick - yes could be the Prog, it was my last night last night of taking it, but today i felt teary on way into work and at work, tired, very moody to partner in car, got out and slammed the door!

I can’t comment on your HRT but the caffeine in the chocolate could be adding to your anxiety so it might be worth trying to cut it out or at least cut it down.  Also, maybe try switching to decaf tea/coffee for a while to see if it makes a difference.

I doubled the Utrogestan to 200mg and used it vaginally in preparation for a scan on the 19th. Today is day 6. I expected to be floored by feeling very low, tearful, nausea, water retention, tired or totally emotionless and numb.
None of above has happened and no food cravings.
I can’t explain it, I’m very surprised.

I feel down, low, teary 9not cried though) but i am due on 15th....BUT - last night was my last night taking the Utrogesten....so now i will get a withdrawal bleed ...and myabe my period?? I dont know if i will get just the withdrawal??? and not my normal period now? xx

Haydo - oh my word i did not know chocolate contained caffeine!!!!!! thats it....the drawer will be emptied tonight deffo

Hi yes I can’t eat chocolate late in the evening at all because of the caffeine. In fact I only have one cup of proper tea in the morning, after that it’s decaff. I don’t miss it tbh.

In fact while we’re on the subject of utrogestan, I’ve been taking it orally which is fine, but I’ve eventually realised that it does give me crazy vivid dreams. Which I could do without ! Has anyone found this and do you think vaginally might put a stop to this? If so what do you do about inserting it when on period?

Interesting Victoria.

I'm getting a lot of info from the states that higher dose works better. I've been up and down like a yoyo, but I get too many side affects from prog... So I've reduced to a tiny dose which is making me feel hellish... But not the woozy, nausea, spaced out side affect.

My plan is to go up very slowly.
