Lenzetto spray
« on: November 29, 2021, 09:48:04 AM »

I have just been prescribed this by a private consultant (as a doctor’s appt is like hen’s teeth round here).  Only two days in but have gassy indigestion and slight headache.  Am doing 2 sprays a day.  Anybody else using it?   Am going to ask my GP for a repeat prescription now, as I guess it will take a month to get it sorted.

Any other users happy to share their experiences?  I am 61 and haven’t taken HRT for 5 years, just can’t fa e a life of hot flushes and vaginal soreness.

Hi … I’ve been using Lenzetto since May. Took quite a while to get the dosage right because I found one spray was too little and two sprays was too much for me personally. I am now prescribed two packs at a time…..one of them I tape over to close off the amount of spray I get. After a lot of experimentation I have found that one full spray  and 1/4 of a spray Works really really well for me. When I first went onto Lenzetto my oestrogen blood level was only 98 which is apparently incredibly low and on Lenzetto it is now up to 240 which apparently is where it should be. I should add I am 69 and I had a hysterectomy aged 42 and I’ve been on HRT ever since then. I was on Oestrogel for many many years but when they changed the formulation last year it did not suit me hence why I have been changed onto Lenzetto I have to say now that I have the dosage right I absolutely love it….it’s so easy to apply and dries literally in seconds. Good luck….I really hope it works out for you too. Personal experience of it is the key thing is getting the dose right which can take awhile. I felt dreadful personally onto 2 sprays because it was too much for me and I felt like I was on the ceiling and really jittery with lots of headaches but now I have the dose right it’s really really good xx

I'm using Lenzetto and my experience is very similar to Pippa's. It's been a life saver for me and I got on much better with it than alternatives (oestrogel or estradot) which didn't seem to work as well for me. But I have struggled to get the dose right and I'm still on that journey 8 months after starting it. Like Pippa I am taping over the dispenser and still trying to work out what the right dose is that doesn't cause me to be symptomatic, but also doesn't give me horrid side effects from too high estrogen.

If I could do it all again I would choose to start off on 1 spray and increase little by little as needed. But this is because I personally find it almost impossible to reduce my Estrogen - even when it's too high - because the act of dropping in itself seems to cause me to be unbearably symptomatic.

For me the effectiveness and the ease of use make it a great product, the only downside is not being able to really easily do smaller doses. Hope that helps!

This makes me terribly sad. I don't understand why we're all having to cut up patches, guess gel in part-pump measures, tape up spray containers, gauge tiny amounts of testosterone from an NHS sachet meant for men, constantly experiment with regularity of topical treatments; the trial-and-error" method taking up months/years of our lives? This is progress? Isn't it all a bit surreal? Maybe I'm just on a "Bah! Humbug!" day, but it's all so time-consuming and frustrsting. Apologies if I've gone off piste, rebel2!

Hi
I've just started on the lenzetto spray 1 week ago, previously being on evorel 25 patches.
I was prescribed the lenzetto spray from a NHS menopause clinic, she advised 2 pumps daily, try for 3 months, then up to 3 pumps daily with a maximum of 4 if needed.
After a few days I started to feel really bloated, legs and stomach, and then developed very sore breasts, particularly around the nipple area, so I've dropped my dose down to 1spray Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and 2 sprays Tuesday Thursday and Saturday.

Post meno, I am TOTALLY with you!!

We have made no progress in my view. All this bloody trial and blooming error, well it’s taking over my life. In fact, no, that’s a lie, as I have no life!

My existence is spent, largely chasing scan appointments, bleeding, second guessing HRT types and doses, running a home, trying to work and clearing up after teen kids!!!

It’s utter uttter crap!!!

Why should we be chopping patches, taping down nozzles and waiting for flipping Chelsea hospital to call??

 :(
Frankly, I’m sick of it all.

Bah humbug  :(

I couldn't agree more Post Meno - and that's not even taking into account the whole 12 months I lost of my life from being refused HRT completely by 4 different doctors because of my age (42).

When I eventually put myself on Lenzetto (I retrospectively had it confirmed by a Meno specialist that my E levels were low enough to be prescribed HRT) it literally saved my life. I am still angry at all those other doctors (including one so-called meno specialist) who didn't believe me when I knew exactly what was going on.

Suza for me the painful boobs are my personal diagnostic radar alert of when my E is too high and I definitely had it on 2 sprays, particularly as you say around the nipple area which was unusual for me. I don't like to give advice here but if it were me starting again, I would indeed start smaller and work my way up, as I've found it very difficult to reduce my dose once on it (but that's probably just me).

Good luck x

Hi Gilla
Thanks for your advice.
I think 2 sprays was probably too much too soon, so hopefully alternating between one and 2 sprays might be the best for me
It's all about trial and error I suppose
Just seems strange, before on patches I used to get sore.breasts but more down the síde under the armpit

How strange.... I am exactly the same. The sore boobs were down towards the armpit but on Lenzetto there is a distinct nipple soreness... I think I even posted on here about it when I started Lenzetto months ago. I wonder why!

It's got me puzzled too
The consultant did say I might get breast soreness but not specifically in the nipple area
I'm hoping after 3 months my body might get used to it
Apart from that I like the lenzetto spray so far

I did well on Lenzetto a few years ago but it was slightly too weak (even using three pumps) and my symptoms returned.

I tried it again last year and I had gastrointestinal side effects and migraines so I'm afraid I had to ditch it and go back to gel.   It's a great product and very user friendly but it didn't agree with me.   It's strange because I didn't have gastro issues last time but perhaps they have changed the formula?

Hello!
Gilla you and I were on another thread re Qlaira together. Really happy that things are looking better. I’m struggling the Estradot didn’t work and my symptoms are getting worse. I’m nearly 43 and can’t believe I’m still trying to get better after nearly 5 years.
The specialist says try oestrogel but I hear that there are all sorts of issues in its quality. I’m thinking about lenzetto!
Any advice is really appreciated. X

Hello ladies.

I sympathise with you all regarding how frustrating this journey can be. I am post meno and still trying to get it right!
I noticed that no one has mentioned another Oestrogen gel called Sandrena which I have been using for the past few months. I like it because it dries faster than Oestrogel and doesn't require as much skin surface area. Sandrena comes in sachets so it can be easily tweaked, for example I am currently using two and a half sachets daily.

I hope this helps and take care everyone.

Thanks Kathleen for your supportive message. It means a lot. I’m thinking maybe it’s worth trying Sandrena. I didn’t realise how long this hrt journey would be. Xx
