Hi CrispyChick,
Never been on contraceptive or hrt. But I have suffered ovarian pain and endometriosis.
For me the first time started at age 25 years old. I would wake up in the middle of the night like someone had just stabbed me. I went to my doctor, she wasn’t concerned, I’d then had mid cycle bleeding. Back to my doctor and sent for a ultrasound. They found 4 ovarian cyst, two small, one size tennis ball and one larger then a tennis ball. One month later operated on, one had attached itself to me.
The next was age 40, just had the stabbing pains, that comes and go. But it was different from the first time, as these pains started to come every day. Saw specialist again, found small cyst on ovaries. I decided to go for a keyhole operation. Which they abandoned the operation, as endometriosis was found. A year after that had a hysterectomy but still got my ovaries.
And my ovaries still give me problems. Getting better been 3 years now, but still get the odd days when I can feel a dull pain that comes and goes. Still getting ultrasounds to keep an eye on them. Now that’s my story.
Can I ask you a question? Does the ovary pain comes when your due for periods and when your ovulating? I got told from gynaecologist that when endometriosis gives you that pain. I do also wonder why my ovaries still give me a couple days of problems each month, and wonder would I normally have periods? My doctor won’t let me go on HRT,she says the hormones would make my ovaries worse.
Hope you feel better soon
Lyn
