Newbie utrogestan - missing period !
« on: July 23, 2021, 01:01:56 PM »

Hi everyone . So glad to have found this forum! It’s amazing!

I have started this cycle one pump of oestrogel and utrogestan 100mg vaginally days 15-26.

I am 48 and had been feeling some peri symptoms (mainly lower mood and lowering libido) so thought I would give it a go. My GP is great and has a great reputation for HRT prescribing .

The other thing which my Gp took into account is that I am still so keen to have a baby with my new partner If it were to happen naturally !

Anyway, started this cycle and really felt great ! I am now cd31 and no period or bleed ! My cycle is usually regular 27-28 days

So confused as to why the utrogestan isn’t causing a bleed even if I had an annovulatory cycle ? The other thing in the mix is that I had my first Pfizer on cd6 (I had been putting it off for the very reason of potentially messing up cycle !)

Thanks for any advice - not sure if I need to speak to gp or just tell her at our 3 month review !

Sorry for the length of this post !

Welcome.

MayB you should see a Consultant regarding conception B4 you consider HRT.  It may well depend on a lot of issues both with yourself and your partner in order to conceive ;-)

Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use.

I don't understand 'cd31 and cd6'  :-\

I'm late peri and only bleed on roughly half of the annovulatory cycles. It's probably because your lining hasn't built up enough, one pump is a low dose. If you really want a baby with your new partner you need to see about ivf now, it really is last chance saloon now.

Hi both!

This is the first period I’ve been late for in prob the last couple of years tho ...

Re conceiving - no I wouldn’t want ivf or anything, just wouldn’t want to stop it happening if it’s gonna happen.

Oh - CD means ‘cycle day’

Just seems weird the first month of Hrt I am so late when usually regular but maybe it was the pfize that threw my cycle ? Thanks for replying !

Hi!  👋 oh look 👀 LOL - little things and all that  ::)

Usually the body doesn't get where it is suddenly so it may take a while for HRT to be beneficial.
