Does anyone have a positive experience of having their second dose yet? I am really hoping I don't experience the same or worse side effects than first time round! Or is it just pot luck??

Not had my second one yet, but four of my friends have. All but one had 3 days of side effects with first dose, but nothing, not even a headache, with second, none of them.

Astra seems to be giving side effects first time around and has less on the second whereas Pfizer is the opposite.
I hope you escape second time.

My second Pfizer was tougher than the first. Arm more painful and for longer, and felt tired for a week.

My second dose of AstraZeneca is beginning of June and ive decided im not having it unless by then im offered Pfizer or Moderna. If a vaccine is not safe for all age groups then I have no confidence in taking it.
Ive suffered terrible anxiety after the first dose with pains in my legs and chest a couple of weeks after and im not putting myself through that again. I had Covid last year.

I don't think we have a choice. I would also not have anything different . AZ last time so I'll want the same.

Hi Gnatty
I had my second AZ vaccine 11 days ago. First vaccine put me in bed for 3 days with fever etc. I did not feel better for a week. But I have had covid which can make side effects worse. I was very nervous about the second vaccine. At one stage I was in two minds about having it but I did. This time around I did not have the same reaction. I just felt a bit spaced out for a few days. I feel Ok now.
Maybe I am a bit nervous still about the rare blood clots until two weeks has passed. But thats just the way I over worry!
Other friends also say they did not get the same side effects second time round either.
Let me know how you get on- best wishes

Thank you, Menopope. I am an over worrier too and every time I get the slightest mildest headache I start worrying about bloodclots even though its been over 5 weeks. I still have a bit of a wait for my second, but it's on my mind!

Go 4 it? Side effects won't B anywhere near as bad as C-19 might.

My mum had her 2nd yesterday - she is 74 and had a horrible time with the first - really bad. She has a bit of tiredness/fatigue and a sore arm and that is it.
