Can someone answer this? Xx
« on: February 11, 2021, 04:29:05 PM »

Hi guys! Just a random question and I feel stupid asking, but can too much Eostrogen in your system causing you to feel anxious and depressed? Or is it to do with hormones being out of balance? I'm very confused!  🤔😁 xxx

Hi Unicorn

My experience is too high oestrogen can definitely make you feel anxious.

Conversely if your hormones are out of balance you can feel anxious and depressed also. Sorry not much help I know x

That’s what I’m finding too. Too much estrogen, or balance of estrogen to progesterone is off, and I feel anxious, jittery, on edge. I think depressed and tearful too. Although I’m not sure if the excess estrogen depression feels different than the low estrogen depression. I’m sure I’ll feel that at some point to compare  ;D. This trial and error stuff sure takes a LONG time but tracking symptoms has helped me piece things together for my own experience at least.

Thank you both! The reason I'm asking is I was on sequi HRT patches and became progressively worse mentally after a few weeks then better when I came off them... I also think I was better on the combined patch rather than the oestrogen patch?? I'm a strange case 🤔🤔😁 xxx

I have struggled for 18 months with various regimes of HRT! I’m now on Sandrena 3mg and have the mirena coil . This didn’t work for me until I introduced a good balanced diet ! I have now come to understand through a lovely specialist who deals with hormones and blood sugars that it’s actually so much more to do with stabilising your blood sugars! I no longer  get those awful spikes of anxiety due to my diet! It’s earlier days but 2 months in and I am so much more settled

That’s interesting! Since halving my estrogen dose, I noticed a quick loss of some weight (bloating), and I’m not getting up every two hours to go to the bathroom. What’s really interesting though is my appetite has decreased some and I don’t have the sugar cravings I was so accustomed to. I think my blood sugar is in a much better place. That said, because I’m less hungry, it’s easier to go too long without eating which can quickly cross the line into low blood sugar grumpiness. I can usually see that coming and feel like it’s own own damn fault. It sure is important to keep everything on an even keel where I can.
