Hi menopausealways, yes Stugeron helps with dizziness, IF what's causing dizziness are inner ear vestibular issues.

Glad to hear it works well for you. Do you have any side effects? I don't have dizziness but tinnitus is killing me 😕

If you use it,don't use the instructions for travel sickness,if you look at the leaflet inside the dosage is 2 tabs 3 times a day  :)

Do you take fewer than 2-3 a day for dizziness then Jaypo?  And for how many days is it safe to take them, do you know please?

Hello ladies.

I had dizziness from Labyrinthitis recently and I was given Stemetil tablets to take  3 x daily. These may be prescription only but I thought it was worth a mention.

Take care everyone.

I was prescribed them for a week at that dosage but yes,you can take less but how effective they'd be I'm not sure.
I used to be prescribed stemitil and was on them long term but a dr then stopped prescribing them as they are linked to Parkinson's BUT ⬅️(big but😆) that's long term use

Actually all these vertigo drugs can cause a symptom that resembles Parkinson's disease but it's actually something called extrapyramidal symptoms. Unlike true Parkinson's, once you stop the drugs the symptoms subside. And they only occur with long term use of the drugs. That's why doctors prescribe them now for short term use (2-3 months).

- I thought this meant the dose for travel sickness on the leaflet inside is 2-3 times a day but that you were saying to take a different dose for dizziness?!  Sorry - bad case of meno brain  ::)  I couldn't see anything on the PIL about using it for dizziness.

Kathleen - thanks for the info about Stemetil.  Stugeron works for me for travel sickness when other drugs don't, but I'd never tried it for dizziness, though before this thread was started, coincidentally I'd bought a new pack intending to try it for that (to prevent the dizziness progressing to nausea etc).

Hi haha don't worry probably me not explaining correctly (my meno brain ;D )
I think the dose for travel sickness is written on the actual box but the dr prescribed me the higher dose of 2 tabs 3 times daily,I'm sure I also read it in the leaflet somewhere,oh god,I'm doubting myself now  ;D
Thanks for that uptick,I'd been taking stemitil FOR YEARS wasn't til I moved down here to Wiltshire the dr said no more on repeat prescription but didn't say why, then when I asked another dr it was him that said about the Parkinson's,can't believe I was prescribed it for so long with no questions asked before  :o
