Ones we use a lot are in the holiday file.  I have an old music case of my Dad's where all the Derbyshire info is stored; and an old music case of mine for the Sussex leaflets - otthers are either in the filing cabinet or a loose-leaf box file.  Problem is, I can never remember where each is stored  >:(

Then make a list. I'm a big fan of lists.

;D - I then lose the lists ..........  :-\ - most of the holiday leaflet boxes/drawers are marked though.  I did find a pile of OS maps yesterday in a drawer specifically set aside for them 10 years ago: and promptly forgotten.........

We only collect holiday stuff when on holiday and generally leave most of it behind.

There are some great free leaflets but my dear hubby made a mistake one year. It was not until we got home that we discovered that one of the "free" leaflets cost 60p.

My kids ribbed him endlessly about it.....He was so embarrassed.

Some of my leaflets go back 30 years  ::) - eventually they may become collectors' items  ;D

Chores done for the evening.  Feet up, TV on  ;)

I have a pile of washing waiting to hang out.  Went to clean the line, felt spots of rain and now it's pouring  ::)  ........ so it's still in the machine, the wind is blowing a hooley and it may well get into the next town if it escapes from the pegs so am hanging on for 30 mins or so  ::)

DH was so good last week, he hoovered round (which helps clear my rhinitis), drove me to the GP surgery, twice, did shopping and generally got on with it whilst I was on the loo  ::)

Today I managed to get washing out, dried, in and put away; we went shopping together ........ must try harder tomorrow  ???

Well New Year brings cobwebs as I go from room to room deciding what is required during 2014.  This morning we walked round the house and have to bite the bullet and have a Very Good Clean Round and start decorating  :o  :sigh:  I hate upheaval but the whole house needs the once over which could take 4-8 months depending on ..........

This morning I have been watering the indoor orchid and cactus plants.  Each one thoroughly soaked through, drained and stood back in place - takes a whole day!  In between I have been polishing the surfaces and sorting out stuff to sell at a Fair in May so yet more boxes stood around .......... DH has been cutting back and tying in fruit canes, climbers which are out of hand ........ we have a Very Long List  :D

Our last house was a full renovation job. We had decorators in for six weeks every day except Sunday. By the time they left I was so used to having them around I missed them   ;D

I prefer to keep on top of things rather than having to give anything a very good clean. I am a bit of a neat freak so don't find it hard to keep on top of things.

Are you getting decorators in CLKD ?

If I were you CLKD I would get in the decorators and take off in your camper van - once the weather warms up of course - you could have the whole house done in a month  :)

It will take a month to clear stuff and lock it all away  ;) ……… the thought of someone else in our house without supervision leaves me cold.

It doesn't leave me as cold as the thought of having to spend up to eight months decorating..

I'm not a neat freak - I tend to start and then give up and go out.. any excuse...

Like us then  ;D

But at least the decorating can be done on an intermittent basis: clear the room one week, rest, choose the paint another week, rest, pick up the brush the next week  :D

Decorators are def. the way to go. They can do in a day what it would take us a week. My last time, it took the decorator 4 and a half days to do living room, bedroom, hall and bathroom. Including woodwork and ceilings (excl. doors). I emptied (into the spare room) and filled rooms behind him. And there is only one of me! Job done. It was hard work but worth it to get it all done in a week. I cannot cope with things taking weeks or months to get done. In and out is my preferred method of working.
