Exciting ain't it.  There are so many cycling events across the UK that it's hard to keep up!!

Please don't refer to the tour of Britain as the tour of England, it may not be visiting Scotland this year but it starts in Wales.

Referring to Britain as England is patronising to Welsh and Scottish people, I'm very disappointed today  :(

Don't worry CLKD. These sort of things can be a bit sensitive.  Just look at what trouble Brexit has caused.

Shush, I didn't really say that word, honestly.  ::) ;)

Welsh and Scots are known to be sensitive - having lived in both countries I am fully aware but it was a genuine mistake.  I'm off ..........

Oh CLKD don't go please, I wanted to tell you it goes through my little town, there's a lot of prep going on to make the town welcoming .  Plus the castle which is in the middle of our town has been illuminated yellow to celebrate Geraints success!   I'd insert a pic but I dint know how !
I'm very welsh, I wasn't offended at all, I knew what your meant.  Our mayor keeps referring to it as the World Cycling Tour!  :-\

:'(  I didn't mean to offend.  I know that the Celts are proud of their heritage, not something I feel I have [another thread?]

I'm back ......... laid in the bath and decided to apologise for those I upset.

My sister on Anglesey sent a message to me last night that as far as the eye could see was lit in yellow - I wish I lived in Wales right now .......

It's so easy to offend without meaning to and all your posts CLKD show you are a very caring person.

Never mind making a mistake with one word, how about one letter...

I once told my son's teacher that I was too “busty” to help at a swimming gala. In truth, I was and remain both busy and busty!

I once went into a carpet shop to ask for an off cut of carpet,  I somehow inserted an extra N in cut.

KILL ME NOW.

I have never ever been so embarrassed in all of my life 👊👊👊

Just wondered if anyone here cycles themselves.  I have just given my bike away to a neighbour as haven't used it for years.  Too many cars on the road and not enough courage.  :(

Weeelllll ............ having been raised to cycle everywhere: Dad had the car to go to work: Mums everywhere seemed to have a seat on the front and on the back for the kiddies  ::).  Either that or we walked.

When we lived in Wales we cycled for miles, at least every Sunday for years.  We would have a good breakfast: not the best of ideas as I would faint after about 5 miles  ::).  It was in those days enjoyable due to the views.

I stopped when we moved to this area in the 1980s due to 36,000 vehicles per day going by our house and no way of getting to a safe area to cycle on.  20 miles away are paths suitable but it was such a phaff to load food, drink, cycles onto/into a vehicle  ::).  I can't even remember what colour my bike is, the one that is hidden in our shed.

DH did cycle regularly until 2 years ago.  He went out once in 2017 and talks about starting again but a, b, c has stopped any time to go biking.

Now there are more Parks to use but again, we have to drive to them.  It makes me weary thinking about loading up etc..   It's as easy in cooler weather to drive to the Parks to walk.  I love to see kids on their cycles though.  About 30 mins. ago a family biked by but the 3 year old fell off, oh the noise: problems solved, into the shop for a lolly  ;D
