Before Xmas I resolved to start cycling again on 1st January.  I've been ill for nearly 2 weeks and feel awful so it will have to wait a few days yet I'm afraid. :'(

I hope you feel better soon Penny. It is better to wait until you are fully recovered. You will soon be out there again I am sure.

Never cycle whilst feeling poorly!  Then get back gradually, I lack stamina in most things  ::) so little steps!

Got into cycling through hubby, but find it hard to keep up with the group of friends that have been doing it for years.  They all seem to like to race instead of ramble.

Also, haven't yet invested in biking shorts which would definitely help the ol' posterior.   :o

I hate cycling in groups...rather go on my own then free to go where I like as fast or slow as I like.
BLOODY SNOW ! Was doing well, got 87 miles in so far this year :-)

I have an old bike which I use locally as can't manage very far, so am not in you ladies' league! But I so enjoy being on a bike, even if it's just a 10 minute slow cycle to the shops. Such a great feeling and so much nicer than walking. As long as it's not windy - have you noticed that the wind always seems to blow right into your face, no matter which way you are cycling?!  ::)

When I was young and healthy I cycled to work and back in London, through central London etc with no helmet. I'd be far too scared to do that now, even if I could.  I do wish the roads were more cycle friendly like in some other european countries. Any major road is scary, mostly due to the trucks which just don't see cyclists.
