I LOVE my garden, without it I would fade quickly.  I am avoiding housework, as usual  ;)

My DD has been teaching her brother sign language. She has a friend who is deaf, so took it upon herself to learn it when she was 9. It has been lovely watching them together because they do have spells where they fight like cat and dog.

I think it should be taught, along with First Aid, to every child across the UK.  I don't think that my brain would keep up  :-\

I have let my bottle fed lambs out in the yard for the first time. So I have an excellent excuse to sit in the sun and supervise them  :D I can't think of a better 'project' for today. Compensation for all the nights I've been up at midnight with them.

Boil the kettle, I'm on my way  ;D .......... I won't see 'ours'  :'( as we aren't going to the fishing Lake and every year they are put into the fields around to gamble and bleat .  The reason we aren't going is to lessen the risk of a RTA which would take up NHS time and maybe critical care beds, the lake remains open.  Bugga ............

The roads round here are pretty quiet. Does fishing count as your hour's exercise? I'm sure it isn't an excuse to go to sleep in the sun..  8)

;D.  We usually go for 5-8 hours dependent on the weather and time of year.  Hardly see anyone else however busy the men are.  I can sleep in the camper with the sun pouring through ........... has anyone actually said it's an hour's exercise only, initially it was an exercise 'session'  ;)

Having watched question time  tonight it's very obvious if we keep bending the rules this lockdown will last much longer ( it's was suggested 11-12 weeks and radio 4 apparently said could be 6 months) Wuhan is still in lockdown. We have  to have a new mindset going for a non essential drive food or medical appointments etc that's it unless a key worker.

The government have sent out warning shots ( like they did before ) if we don't comply and keep trying to bend the rules they will get tougher and we could end up like other countries where lockdown really is lockdown.

Going for a drive risks an accident, or breakdown both of which are at there maximum capacity regards services, & if everyone goes off for a drive to the countryside then 🤦‍♀️we are being watched & they now have powers to stop you in the car asking where your going & they have drones out for dog walkers who are pushing the boundaries.

I hate it all as much as everyone else & not seeing my granddaughter most days who lives around the corner has had me sobbing today so we just have to do as we are told or have it forced and all freedom taken away and paperwork required to leave and get shopping etc.

My eldest is in lockdown in New Zealand.

Exactly this.

One car journey per week if necessary for essential food shopping.

One hour of exercise a day, only from your own door.

No physical contact with people you're not already living with - except caring responsibilities.

I'm working from home - lucky to have one of those jobs.

Walking to my allotment - allowed as it's just up the road.

Writing a book with my husband, who's a philosopher - Nietzsche.

I am working from home (since end of last week) and have only been out for food. The amount of work I can do at home is limited but we were issued with laptops and additional software to give us remote access.
Really missing my usual exercise. Just walking to the station and later to work gave me 30 minutes brisk walking each day plus I went on frequent weekend walks. Hope to do a local one tomorrow or Sunday.

Have the worry of my elderly and disabled dad. He pays for carers and people to clean his house and enjoys their company. Now the agency has withdrawn the cleaning service completely and reduced the care support. I can't go there anymore because I would need to cross London on public transport. My younger brother lives close and he has had to visit to do some cleaning and clothes washing for him.

Spending a lot of time in the garden so the good weather very welcome.  My husband got a delivery from our local garden centre which, although closed, is doing telephone orders and deliveries.

Sorry about you Dad Katejo. Let's just hope the lock down doesn't last too long.

At a time when cleaning is essential.  :-\ I would want a written letter from the Company explaining exactly why?  If it's to protect their workers from your Dad well that's taking it to extremes; has he been anywhere?  If it's to protect their workers my response is that they aren't doing a particularly good job over all then! if they are worried about contamination.  What happened to the human aspect?

I will say again:

Use BOILED water with a mix of laundry powder and domestos: wipe all surfaces regularly allow to air dry.  BOIL the clothes used.

Wipe under taps, under Council bin lids, handles and where anyone else may have left the Virus.  It doesn't like boiled launder water.

Metholated spirits will work.  It breaks down the fat on the outside of the Virus, therefore drowning the little blighter .  If gloves are worn and in my opinion these are dangerous as they rarely get washed often enough and will end up in landfill: taking them off correctly is important.  Having worked in clean rooms my DH has been explaining to anyone wearing gloves anywhere  ::) the protocol.  One-use gloves are worse than even Marigolds which can be boiled after use.

Katejo - tell your brother to carry out good cleaning regime, including the car doors/boot handles, steering wheel and gear stick if he drives between places.  Wipe the door handles at your dad's place going in and on the way out - backwards as it is.  Maybe provide your Dad with a bowl of water/laundry powder and a cloth so that he can wipe as he goes along ?  Don't forget the handle of the hoovery-thingy, dustpans, brushes etc..  Also the telephone and door bell where appropriate.

Yep.  the best way it so drink it  ::) [is to ]

Now meths however is better not drunk but used as a swab ;-)

The Garden Centre we use is charging a tenner per van load but they are 20 miles away so probably won't be considered essential.  They are however sending out seed packets if we order B4 mid-day.   :-*

I've sat in the sun again  8)
