All tourist areas need visitors.  What they don't need is people buying, but that's where the shop managers come in!  They have to take some control.  What happened to printing large signs with Rules?  Nor does any area need the bug being carried ........ but as isolation in Italy hasn't stopped the death rate  :-\ and we should be getting a dose of fresh air ....

PF - which shops in particular?  I know that Norfolk is hard to get to with no motorways [that coast road is slow at the best of times!] but surely there are farm shops with supplies? I wouldn't use blue rolls, preferring newspaper.  Seriously.  Granny never had toilet roll as she couldn't afford that and a newspaper had more uses.  My BinL in Hunstanton hasn't mentioned any particular shortages ........

Today I will be weeding.  Probably shivering as well but needs must.

In north Wales they don't want second home or caravan owners to visit not because they will empty the shops but because if the fall ill the local hospitals won't be able to cope with the numbers.

Apparently snowdonia was packed yesterday, they are saying stay away today  ???

What numbers?   It happens in the Summer of a normal year but the public aren't aware of how many beds are taken up by visitors and how many ops are postponed/cancelled due to the usual influx  ::). How many critical care situations do Wales foresee?  There will be accidents that have to be dealt with immediately across the UK which is why the Government have suddenly found more beds ......... and the private sector are helping out which means those operations will be cancelled.  Whether there will be enough staff to cover the extra beds?

I've nipped inside  ;D can U tell, it is COLD out there.  Another layer required!

We have no idea how many are carrying thousands are carrying the virus. It only takes one person to start and epidemic in a 'clean' area. EVERYONE should be staying at home. It isn't only about hospital beds, many people won't survive it even with medical care.

We are doing mainly local walks.  Usually only come across a few people so no problem.  The worst is the supermarket as even if you try and keep a distance others don't.

I think we need a strictly come dancing backwards if people invade personal space ;-)

So what consists of 'necessary' travel?  What about those whose employers who insist the workforce continues to go to in?

Our village is having a bear hunt: anyone with a cuddly bear puts it in the window and the kids tick off which house.  Same with painted stones.  Lots of ideas on various Facebook sites even if one doesn't join in.  Some are putting books/jigsaws in boxes with lids, well wiped - for others to pick up, use and put in another box around the village.  If any of you have a telephone box that has been decommissioned? it could be utilities.  Church has a ribbon tree in the garden - OK as long as everyone doesn't arrive to hang their prayer ribbon at the same time!

Lots of pubs etc. are offering take away - ring up, put in the order early enough and either collect or it will be delivered.  LOTS of people are buying live chickens  :-\ ..........  :o at this time of year when Mummy fox is busy !!

Maybe a group could do a crossword: pick a daily paper, each do as much as possible then ring the friend with 1 clue to get the answer ........

My OH read that people are buying more and more chickens, to keep in their back gardens.
Don't blame em, I can't get eggs anywhere, this might give me a chance. 😉

Chickens take a few weeks to get going though - so will the RSPCA be expected to pick up the pieces when owners get fed up waiting?

Oh nooooo,we were going to go to our lodge, not sure what to do now, when we go there,we don't go wandering about all over the place, just go for walks,it is very isolated where we are,it would be the decent thing to do for these places to say don't come but we?ll suspend the fees,we pay over 5k a year for the site we?re on but they emailed us and said it was ok to come, very small exclusive site, what to do ladies  :'(

It's a question of holiday home owners using up the limited shopping and medical facilities. The idea is to leave them for the locals. Boris said staying at home meant in your primary residence.

These fee issues need to be put on the back burner.  No one could anticipate this crisis and Park owners etc. will need every penny right now to keep the sites afloat?  Better to not ask yet what they decide to do and have a site to return to?  Trouble is, it's over the main Summer period  :'(

I think it's more to do with the strain on local health services.

Also it risks further spread.  That's what happened in Italy when the lock down was due to be extended.  40,000 people in Italy have been fined for not sticking to the rules.  They are not in a good place now.

The problem is if the government brings in total lockdown you won't be able to get back

That's my worry littleminnie, but Stella,we DO take all our own stuff with us so wouldn't even need to go to shops etc.
Clkd, believe me Argyll & Bute DO NOT NEED THE MONEY,the Campbells pretty much own the entire district and are Multi millionaires, there are 40 lodges on the site all paying 5.5k a year and we are one of the tiny sites, for that money,we get the grass cut  >:(
Head in hands, don't know what to do  :'(
