This is my worst symptom. Had it for two years and I guess I am not 100% sure it is peri, so looking for thoughts.

It is very hard to explain. I'll try my best.

Lying in bed I feel like my head is swirling round. Not vertigo. More like the internal part of my head is going round in circles. I wake with this feeling every morning. Some days worse than others.

During the day my head feels foggy and out of it. The spinney feeling comes and goes. Some days I feel actually dizzy, other days milder.

Never fall over, never even stumble. Just an overall horrible feeling. Can bring nausea at times, but that was calming down. In the beginning it was severe.

In the past I have had labyrinthitis. It's not that. This is milder, but equally horrible.

I have seen ENT. Had MRI, CT scan. Seen neurologist. All say nothing wrong. Have just started the combined pill - intensity of symptoms have ramped up, so now assuming peri.

Anyone else experienced this?

I have suffered the same symptoms for may years started at age 48 when peri hit me. No one including me suggested hormonal. I seen ENT several times Nero, but nothing found thought original cause was Labrinthytis…...

I think it was and is hormonal. I remember my gran describing feeling giddy and I think it's the same. I am 10 years down the line and get dizzy days but in the beginning esp when my period was due it was horrendous. The pill should help

This too is my worse symptom. . As you say, worse in the morning, but eases through out the day.
I feel like it's jet lag, but without the holiday. It does feel especially bad some days then I will get a show or a bleed, so it must be hormones.
I too have seen ent and had scans that show nothing.
It's awful. I wanted to say I sympathise with you. Xx

Yep.  I move my head and my brain takes a brief second to catch up  .  It happened a few moments ago, felt really weird.

Add to that placing my feet when walking and they don't hit the ground where I think they ought to

Thank you so much for your replies. It really helps to reassure me that this is most likely peri.

I've never really believed it is something sinister...... But the docs have pushed me down that route. Only now with the pill making it worse, are we focusing on the hormonal.

So, I was on the mini pill for 18 months. My symptoms were there and, although I didn't get periods, I got pmt and often dizzier around that time.

Now starting the low dose combined pill 20/150.......and my symptoms are horrific. I am slightly confused by that. I'm riding it out in the hope it is just start up reaction, but I'm scared it is going to leave me like this which is constantly spinney and nauseous. I am 43.

I too suffer with dizziness daily. I first had it going through peri then it went away but it's back sine menopause, I also feel I'm walking on marshmallows sometimes or it feels like the floor is moving,  a very uneasy feeling  also my eyes feel like their being twisted out my eye sockets  at times. This makes me nauseas.

It's one of the many horrendous symptoms of peri and menopause

Yes I call it bobble head, it's like being on a plane or train. I had it months ago but it left me now it's back and very debilitating, I've been started on low dose HRT so I'm hoping it will help. I've never stumbled but it feels like bouncing along...... 100% sure it's hormonal.

Hi Anxious me

Hi too have problems with my eyes - unable to focus. I always feel worse in the mornings. I have lightheadedness, feel faint, unsteady pour in sweat and eyes out of focus. GP done blood all ok so it must be hormones I am now 60 post menopause and on 2 pumps of gel which I wonder if I'm absorbing. Don.t want to increase just want to get through to the other side.

Will it ever end?? Wx
