Magnesium
« on: October 24, 2019, 05:51:38 PM »

I would just like to share how much Magnesium has helped me with my withdrawal of HRT.

Palpitations: Within 30 minutes of taking Magnesium palps have all subsided.

Hot Flushes: I've read a few studies about Magnesium helping regulate your body temperature and I'm pretty sure it has helped reduce my flushes. I only get 1 per day abd that's during the night.

Hormonal balance: Another positive of taking Magnesium is it's ability to help with hormonal balance and Thyroid function so a positive there.

Anxiety & Sleep: I do believe that Magnesium has not only helped with my sleep during HRT withdrawal but kept me chillaxed as well.

It is my wonder supplement, I'm taking quite a high dose 400mg but the benefits are definitely showing.:)

Just thought I'd share... X

Thanks for sharing, I'm trying to get off hrt too and I have thought of trying magnesium.
How long have you been using it? Also, has it affected your stomach at all?
Thanks Spangles

Hi Spangled, I've been on it for two weeks. I use Chelated Magnesium and it hasn't upset my tummy. I feel more relaxed and sleeping better to.

This is worth a watch from Dr Gupta;

I take Magnesium every night too! :) It's in a ZMA formulation, it's zinc, magnesium, and vitamin B6. It helps with sleep. I also sometimes rub magnesium spray on my legs at bedtime if my legs are achy. It seems to help.

Hi Sammie I don't know about the hair regrowth to be honest it's a bit early for me to tell. I have my ovaries and womb, post menopausal about 3 years or so. X

i wouldn't be without magnesium! I also bath in epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) and I use borax too.

Hi Birdy, what is borax good for?

I'm amazed magnesium has stopped the pals, I've got a box of propanolol sitting here and they had little effect at all. :( X

Do you think it can do any harm me trying this?

I am on Femoston 1/10.

I was given beta blockers in May for physical anxiety symptoms.  They stopped working so I stopped taking them in August.

Tried Fluoxetine a fortnight ago - not for me!

Having had a good day yesterday and a good start to today, the palpations have kicked in worse than ever.  These are the worst thing for me, very scary.

Can trying a low dose of Magnesium have any adverse effects or is the worst case scenario that they just won't help at all?

Can anyone recommend a particular brand? Also I don't like big tablets? Are any of them easier to swallow than others?

Thanks.

300mg from the ZMA tablets, and lots from the foods I eat as well (turns out I eat a lot of high magnesium foods). Plus the magnesium spray. Not sure how much it contains but it is absorbed through the skin. I used to take higher doses but didn't really feel much difference.

Hi Ali, yes I would try them they've sorted out my palps where propanolol had little effect. I buy Solgar Chelated Magnesium but they also do a Magnesium Citrate too. You can get them via Ebay as Holland and Barrett have run out. They are quite big but you can snap them in half. Take one tablet a day and see how you feel. X

I guess there must be a lot of folk out there magnesium deficient. I don't understand how you can get to the age of fifty and then suddenly need magnesium, when you never needed it before. 🤔

It is my miracle cure for all my ailments, I will no longer be without it. X
