Thanks All

Believe me I've read nearly all the posts via the search engine here on Vagifem etc.  I think it just makes me more confused.  Some seem to thrive on Vagifem and swear by it.  Others don't get on with it so well.  It is only day one for me really but it seems to have made the urge to wee loads worse so it's hard to know whether it doesn't suit me so the dilemma is whether to continue or not.  I was going to the toilet a lot before but now I'm going more, I'm bloated (seriously how can that be!) and have a pain in my tummy and back.  Some appear to say this is normal initially and others even mention that Vagifem days make their bladder worse.  It is sooooo confusing.  If I thought that two weeks of this was the price to pay then I could probably put up with it.  I will take the second dose tonight and hopefully tomorrow won't be so bad.  I read a story here by somebody called Blot and she appeared to have similar problems with it and I believe she switched to something else.  I guess the only way to find out would be to do the two weeks and see.

Just to clear things up, I wasn't having a watery discharge.  Reason I had to change undies was because my groin was sweating so the outer part of my undies near legs was soaked.  Something I never had before!

I'm beginning to think I may just have to go back on HRT.  The trouble is last time I went in the doctor said I can't have it as my B.P was raised.  I told her I didn't want it I was just there about my bladder / possible VA.   So I now have to have a 24 hour blood pressure check soon.  Also the reason I came off Femeston 1/5 was because I had a migraine with aura.  What patch system is best with a hair friendly progesterone?  (My poor mum ended up with extremely thin hair so it is a fear for me).

I think the Vagifem people should be clearer on their website or people will be scared of hair loss.  They say the risks associated with oral oestrogen should be taken into account then go on to say that one of the commonly reported side effects of Vagifem is hairloss.  It really should be made clearer for people.  However I'm desperate to be rid of these urinary symptoms so am at a loss as to what else to do and not overly concerned as if I did notice a lot of hair loss then I could just stop it.

I know there are alternatives Ovestin and Estriol but aren't they just oestrogen in a slightly different format.  I guess though that I may just have to see how I go on all this.

The worry too is that with HRT shortages I would probably be limited in what patch or gel would be available at the moment!  Are the government trying to kill off all the meno women, lol.

Thanks for listening / reading.  I will try another dose of Vagifem tonight and, who know, hope to report that everything is better and that it was just teething problems.

Hope all have a nice evening.

Thanks for the explanation Hurdity.
It was very helpful of you putting it all into perspective. 👍🏼

Yes thanks Hurdity, given that the amount of oestrogen in Vagifem is 1/1000th of my previous daily tablet it would be hard to imagine how I would be fine on the HRT tablets but not on Vagifem but i think that the company should make it clearer.

I am a convert. Bladder feels much better today. Great not to have that pain and feeling of wanting to go to the loo. All this after second dose! Hope it continues to improve and the bloating goes down. Hooray

Have had 4 vagifem now. My boobs feel very uncomfortable and appear to be plotting their own Br(east)exit from my bra. Cant remember the last time my breasts felt so sensitive. Hoping that somebody can reassure me that this is a short lived side effect?  Not sure if I should skip tonight's dose to give my breasts a break.
Regards

So I continued with the Vagifem and just have 2 days left of the loading dose of 14 days in a row. My bladder is grateful and things have definitely settled there. However my breasts are so so sore.  I'm hoping this will settle when I'm on the twice a week regime. I really don't want to have to choose between vagina and breasts!  This menopause stuff is a sick joke.

Ditto Tinkerbell.  Have been pn Vagifem for approx. 6 mos. and still have some discomfort tho much better than it was.  How long before Vagifem worked for you.

This is interesting reading about Vagifem and hair loss. I noticed that i'm losing much more hair than usual but had no idea it could be linked. Is there a way I can find this out without reading scaremongering stories?
Ive been using Vagifem for a month and really noticed much more coming away when washing or brushing my hair

Tinkerbell and Whatsupwith this that sounds horrendous. Mine caused bladder problems which have subsided. My breast pain has diminished now so I'm a happy bunny.  It was pretty dreadful though when I posted so perhaps (I hope) it was only a short term side effect.

Pink Jan I don't know that there is any proven link it appears to be a few people that believe there is a link, most appear to be fine on it.
