Thanks All
Believe me I've read nearly all the posts via the search engine here on Vagifem etc. I think it just makes me more confused. Some seem to thrive on Vagifem and swear by it. Others don't get on with it so well. It is only day one for me really but it seems to have made the urge to wee loads worse so it's hard to know whether it doesn't suit me so the dilemma is whether to continue or not. I was going to the toilet a lot before but now I'm going more, I'm bloated (seriously how can that be!) and have a pain in my tummy and back. Some appear to say this is normal initially and others even mention that Vagifem days make their bladder worse. It is sooooo confusing. If I thought that two weeks of this was the price to pay then I could probably put up with it. I will take the second dose tonight and hopefully tomorrow won't be so bad. I read a story here by somebody called Blot and she appeared to have similar problems with it and I believe she switched to something else. I guess the only way to find out would be to do the two weeks and see.
Just to clear things up, I wasn't having a watery discharge. Reason I had to change undies was because my groin was sweating so the outer part of my undies near legs was soaked. Something I never had before!
I'm beginning to think I may just have to go back on HRT. The trouble is last time I went in the doctor said I can't have it as my B.P was raised. I told her I didn't want it I was just there about my bladder / possible VA. So I now have to have a 24 hour blood pressure check soon. Also the reason I came off Femeston 1/5 was because I had a migraine with aura. What patch system is best with a hair friendly progesterone? (My poor mum ended up with extremely thin hair so it is a fear for me).
I think the Vagifem people should be clearer on their website or people will be scared of hair loss. They say the risks associated with oral oestrogen should be taken into account then go on to say that one of the commonly reported side effects of Vagifem is hairloss. It really should be made clearer for people. However I'm desperate to be rid of these urinary symptoms so am at a loss as to what else to do and not overly concerned as if I did notice a lot of hair loss then I could just stop it.
I know there are alternatives Ovestin and Estriol but aren't they just oestrogen in a slightly different format. I guess though that I may just have to see how I go on all this.
The worry too is that with HRT shortages I would probably be limited in what patch or gel would be available at the moment! Are the government trying to kill off all the meno women, lol.
Thanks for listening / reading. I will try another dose of Vagifem tonight and, who know, hope to report that everything is better and that it was just teething problems.
Hope all have a nice evening.
