Oh yes, bowel issues are just another problem that emerges when meno hits. Eat small meals regularly through the day, drink enough water and ensure you get enough good fibre. I developed Diverticuli (little pockets in my lower bowel) which now become inflamed easily. The doctors said it happens when one suffers with constipation but I'm a life vegetarian with a high fibre diet and open my bowels at least twice a day. oestrogen deficiency reduces muscle and skin strength, the digestive transit is controlled by muscle, so my logic says, less muscle strength will result in a poorer digestive transit.
I hate when doctors blame our complaints on our lifestyle when it's clear that so much is down to the menopause and general aging. DGx
