Vagifem

Hi
I have now been on Vagifem for 15 weeks and been taking it every 3 days.  Also prescribed estriol which I applied externally for 3 days and found it irritated so have not used it for the last 3 nights.  I now have a thick discharge could this be thrush!!!

It's like a continuous circle you start to feel “normal” and then wham something else starts!

Not sure what to do - do I buy a canesten pessary or persevere and see if the discharge subsides 😩

Don't treat thrush - it requires medical advice ;-)

Is the discharge clear/white?  Is there an odour?  It may be that the 'vagifem' is working! making the vagina moist as it is designed to be.  I find 'KY Jelly' useful on the outer labia, some ladies find that 'sycl' or 'yes' products helpful.

Hi CKLD,

It's pale white and to be honest it's making the external area less sore.  Just got worried as so much of it.  Sorry if this is TMI 🤭

Nowt is too much info on here!  Our bodies are natural and do natural thing, even menopause is natural  ::).  Bodily orifices are supposed to be moist ;-). Wait and watch and if worried next week, show it to your Practice Nurse.  Keep on with the treatment.!

Thanks will be patient and see how things develop.  I have a gp appt in 3 weeks as going to ask about hrt.  Hopeless asking to see a nurse as never any appts available plus  still waiting for my gynaecologist appt though if things get better it will be pointless going.

I must admit this site has been so helpful reading everyone's posts and realising you are not on your own 😃

There's usually someone up and about on here  ::)

You could ring the Dept. to see how long your appt. might take?
