How much longer!
« on: June 12, 2019, 06:12:24 AM »

I haven't posted for a while as I thought I would try and cope with what was going on and try not to focus on all the negatives but this peri menopause seems to be going on forever!!!! I have come off HRT as it upset my IBS, I tried everything so now im on nothing... it was going ok but now I have a constant headache in the side of my head, feel so muggy headed, feel like im walking round in a haze, my energy levels have plummeted and my body aches so much.... on the positive side  the hot flushes are less, still haven't gone a year between periods, three times now I have gone 8 months... has anyone found anything to help with the symptoms I have left as im not sure where to go now.... HELP...

Hi Robotwars
This is the thing, you won't stop being peri until you've gone 12 months, it's so depressing isn't it, I went about 7/8 months twice aswell, only to start counting all over again! 😡
But until your body's ready, that's it!
Sorry your feeling rubbish, but I don't think there's much you can do, except painkillers, something herbal for the aches, COD liver oil for joints is supposed to be good, taking a multi vitamin if needed, have you had your vitamin D checked, that can cause aches in the body, stick with a good balanced diet, and try to keep moving!
Sorry that's all I've got, maybe someone else can add their experience to help.
Hope things improve for you.

Hi Robotwars, sorry you're feeling rubbish. As jillydoll says it is a waiting game & it's not a nice time in our lives.
I suffer from IBS & found that HRT patches were more gentler on the stomach - however for me I developed a rash & had to go on to tablets. I tried many different types over the years & none of them were "the ideal one". I am post meno now & take a low dose combi tablet which seems to keep things bearable.
Maybe consider trying patches if you haven't already done so.
Hope things improve soon & it's lovely to hear from you again.

I just kept working my way through the list of treatments Robotwars till I found ones that worked.  I'm 57 and heaven knows when peri finished and meno started but I don't care, there was no way I was gonna live my life like that. My hrt and me are welded together I'm afraid.  If you are really fed up then why not try again?  There are plenty in the GP's book, it's the patience to try them that's always in short supply cos you feel so bad.
