I am getting increasingly annoyed and frustrated these days by the shortage of hrt patches. I successfully used FemSeven Conti patches for four years, then when they became unavailable I switched to Evorel Conti. Yesterday I went to get my repeat three month prescription only to be told no one can source them, there's a nationwide shortage!
Why oh why in this day and age,  when there is supposedly increased awareness in the media etc and more people are becoming aware of menopausal problems, are we finding less and less hrt products available to us? To say I'm fuming right now would be an understatement 🤬
Oh  and I don't for one minute believe the reason for the shortage  is because the patches don't stick and need to be reformulated.....I can never get the bloody things off!
So, off I go once again to the doctors to try and find an alternative. I've tried the gel/Utrogestan  combo and it didn't suit, I don't really want pills ( I'm 62 and think patches are safer at my age) and my doctor won't fit a mirena ( says it's not suitable for hrt) Yes, I know😡 but her mind is made up.....

I have recently found the same the same with my Estrogel. My go to place (Lloyds) can't get it anymore, only Oestrodose which gives me horrible migraines and nausea x
Im still stunned at the lack of consistent support for us aswell.

Allie...I have found that independent chemists, if you can find one, are more helpful at ordering in the Estrogel.

I got my 1st repeat of Evorel Conti about 2 weeks ago without any problem so is this a very recent issue?

I picked up my Evorel patches easily yesterday although they're just the oestrogen ones. However, we do have trouble getting Naproxen.

I work in a pharmacy and i can tell you it is very frustrating-there are several medicines that the manufacturers cannot supply, and HRT is a particular problem. Elleste patches have been unavailable for a while-with no date yet for return.

I emailed the suppliers this morning and they say Evorel Conti is still being produced and there should be no problem obtaining it. So, it looks like it's down to the suppliers that various chemists around my area of the Midlands are using. It's ridiculous though, if a product is available why can't I get it?
It is better trying to get something from an independent chemist and in the past I have had success that way but right now I just keep getting the same old response ....” sorry but we're having problems  getting them”
I'm wondering if it's down to budgets and they're putting hrt low down on their list of priorities at the chemists?
Glad you managed to get your  Estrogel,  allie. When you find something that works you want to stick with it, we really shouldn't be having all these supply problems.
I'm just glad to hear the Evorel Conti is  still available and some women are getting their supplies at least.

Hi CLKD, I really don't know-we aren't given a reason, but it's so frustrating. We try every day to get these things-in some cases an alternative can be prescribed but in others- there just is no alternative.

I have just gone on Hrt Dr prescribed everol Chemist said there is a nationwide shortage so they put me on Kliovance I'm in South East.

The same has happened to me , I was changed to 3 different patch over a period of 6 months because I couldn't get the patch I needed .
When I called the makers they couldn't give me answer to why they were running short all they said was , no sign of the patches being available at the monet

I'm now on the gel plus provera tablet and here's hoping none of it runs out if stock !!!

Why isn't GP told which can be git and with can't be got ? It really annoys life out of me clapping and changing every few months

When I saw my GP on Friday she said that GP's are now being sent lists of HRTs that are not currently available as there are so many that out of stock.  I'm not sure if this is countrywide.  Made me laugh though because when I went to the pharmacist to get my prescription, they said they were out of stock !!!! I give up, I really do
