Ripped off HRT patch!
« on: March 03, 2019, 10:25:07 PM »

Good evening fellow meno ladies 👋🏻
I just wanted to let you know that after maybe nearly x2 years I have ditched my HRT patch, Evorel Conti, pulled it off last weekend, binned it & said bollox to you!

Long story short, I was feeling like a balloon 🎈 being inflated each day, sore period pain belly, sore swollen boobs, swelling arse & fat legs! Periods had come back, twice per month, brain 🧠 fog 💨

I am in an experimental self medicating stage atm, but can tell you, in this past week I feel sooo much better & deflating!

I am nearly 56, work part time now, also active with a veteran horse & dog so out & about twice per day with the animals.

I have not yet been back to doc's to discuss my decision as I see a different one each time & none seem clued up on menopausal matters sadly.

I will let you know what happens but just wanted to say going cold turkey on binning the HRT is not yet causing me any problems 🤞🏼

Hi Karen R
I'm on the same HRT as you. I don't have any of your problems - been on Evorel Conti over 2 years. I'm really slim, a size 10, don't feel uncomfortable like you describe.
Hope you get on okay without it. In fact, I put on 3 stone before I started HRT and lost all that now. I know different types of HRT affect people in different ways. I had a lot of trouble with different types when starting. Glad you feel better without the patch. Hope you feel okay. Vicky x

Hi Karen
I ripped my final patch off on Christmas Eve - and wish I'd done it earlier. Like you I was having a twice monthly bleed and, at approaching 60, was frankly sick of it.
Two months down the line I'm having a few warm (not hot!) flushes a day which are not really causing a problem. Initially I had quite severe joint pains especially in my hip but these seem to have settled down and I'm making an effort to be active every day.
Sleep is a little disturbed but I think that's more down to circumstances than lack of a patch!
I've had no bleeding at all since I stopped HRT and that alone makes it worth it.
Good luck with your journey!

Well done KarenR.
If it was making you feel like that, I don't blame you!
Being out the house twice a day will help hopefully,
I really hope you get on better, and feel well again...
Wishing you the best of luck, plz keep us informed how you're getting on...

Good luck Karen. I found my symptoms have always returned around the third month so fingers crossed for you.

Did you feel ok when you were on Premique? If symptoms do return there are other types of HRT to try. Many women (me included) don't tolerate the progesterone in Evorel I'm afraid.

Hi. It just makes me wonder if anyone takes Everol Conti and feels okay. I only ever hear negative stories about that patch. Be interested to hear if there is something better around. I've tried the oestrogel and utrogestan regime and was worse with that.
I'm wondering what other regimes I myself could try that are better than the patch for post menopause. Good luck

Hi Vicky
I have saw a lot if folk who get in well with everol conti guess it's just like everything else it don't suit us all
It did help me for around 4-5 months then symptoms started to return but what was worse I'd a constant noise in my head almost like a presure feeling and a humming sound

Just hope it's not too long to I get to hrt clinic as it seems the patch suits me better than the pills as patch is longest one I've been able to stick with

Good luck
