Hi Tc.
Yes, it was a good appointment and I do have faith in her so that's good. In the past I have tried Mirtazapine, Citalopram and Sertraline and none of them worked for me at the time, though to be honest I probably didn't give them long enough. Anyway, Venlafaxine was good in the end for the hot flushes and anxiety. It is notorious for getting off but I reduced very slowly and had no problem.
Yes, the doctor gave me 7 days worth of Diazepam- 2 x 2mg per day, so 7 days. Although I would only take one per day(as I would be too scared to take 2 - so they could last 14 days. Luckily, I am really cautious about taking tablets and have only taken a few when I was starting Venlafaxine.
It sounds as if you have had a really tough time and I'm so glad things are starting to work for you. Menopause really sucks for some of us. Most of my friends are sailing through it - they are so lucky! My mum had a really bad time and I seem to have followed her. I really hope both of my daughters don't follow in our footsteps!
This forum is such a godsend and everyone is so supportive so thanks for taking the time to reply to my posts 😁. I will keep you posted and let you know what comes back from the forum- yes I would definitely like to have been a fly on the wall!😉. I hope things continue to improve for you Xx
