I had never had potato croquets, until I met my hubby who introduced them to me. Haven't had them for years now! Teenager when he was young hated potato, went on holiday to Austria and children's food sometimes came with potato smilies. Started buying them as a treat but again hasn't had those for 10yrs!

We never had arctic roll but Sara Lee choc gateau was a treat after I left home when I used to go back & see Mum.  Did anyone have Tunis cake or capon at Christmas?

I'm pretty sure I had Tunis cake at Christmas once, especially as I don't like Christmas cake.
Artic roll, vienetta & Sara Lee choc fudge cake remember all those - definitely had vienetta once

Can't buy capons in the UK any more.  Due to the chemicals used to castrate them  ::)

Artic roll ............ how did that work  ;D

Turkey used to be fed with pellets made of fish meal!  So they would smell of fish whilst being cooked  :-X

Foxy - Tunis cake is a Madeira type thing, covered in choc with marzipan fruits on the top.  More delicious than it sounds - Madeira cake can be dry - I usually don't like it, but with the choc it somehow worked.  Mum used to buy one from M&S every year when I was a kid, but haven't seen one since then.

A capon is a castrated cockerel - the emasculation makes the poor thing edible!
