[Hinari hot flush]

Don't know about anyone else but as I've started this menopause journey I can now spot a fellow menopausal women a mile off. From someone using a menu as a fan  or hovering around the supermarket fridges and freezers to having a glass of water alongside red wine ( got say personally hate that my favourite tipple now makes me a sweaty mess  )

Today I had the girls round for the wedding and we all vary in age from 45 to mid 50s and the first thing we noticed on ITV was that at times Mary Nightingale and Julie Etchingham were in short sleeves and at points were red faced looking at their ages we assume they are probably members of our club. Got to say not sure if its  the hormones but we all had a cry at the wedding and a tropical moment ourselves

So I was wondering if anyone else is good at spotting a fellow menopaual women when out and about or even watching telly?

Hello Hinari hot flush and welcome to the forum.

There have been many occasions when I have spotted our ' sisters in suffering ',  I've seen women of a certain age get up and leave  the theatre/cinema  and watched a poor woman panic just because she was stuck in a supermarket queue. I often mention my own meno when I'm out and about so from my perspective the subject is often discussed openly.

Its definetly discussed more than in my mums day. Had a conversation in the toilets myself with fellow sufferers and gave a women a shot of my spray to cool down

But yeah my heart bleeds for them as I know how off putting it is. I think Susanna Reid has flushes during GMB

Men have no idea.  Just imagine the fuss they would make.  You only have to look at the millionaire footballers playacting to high heaven when someone bumps into them to know that we would never hear the end of it if they suffered menopause.

To be fair to her co presenter she was trying to make a light hearted comment. But men really have no idea my husbands been gobsmacked by watching my experiences. Also if men had menopause im sure theyd be more treatments available. But hats off to Susanna for being able to go through it and appear on tv.

Hello ladies.

I happened to see a poor woman have a full on, soaking sweat on television recently. She was a member of the public and a journalist was interviewing her at a  political meeting. Initially she was fine and happily answering questions but after a short break she was approached again and I saw that this time she was drenched in perspiration and her face was literally dripping wet.  After the interview I noticed that she had resumed her seat and was busy fanning herself. I can't be sure but I don't think anyone else noticed her flush but as a fellow meno sufferer I sure did.

A shop assistant was feeling extra warm yesterday, we chatted about how to cool down .......... it was 22 in her shop though!  That's 22oC.

As I pushed send I thought of something else to say but it's gone.  Whizzed through the meno brain and out the other side    .

Thats a sin Kathleen as we knkw how shes feeling even though no one else does. But then again dont know if id want everyone to know i was mid flush on tv.

Thats some temp CLKD take it this shop assistant was experencing the change?

Never felt more united in my menopause journey so far was sitting in a cafe and was mid flush using the menu as  a fan and this lovely lady brought out an electric table fan and let me use it My menopause guardian angel

Takes one to recognise one?    .......... in answer to your question which I missed somehow, yes she was in the throws of menopause.
