going round in circles!!
« on: September 07, 2017, 08:26:09 PM »

Hi Everyone, do you ever feel like your going round in circles.....
I have been really good lately and trying to eat  foods that cause less acid etc, then today we have been for a bar meal and after a stressfull day decided to have the lasagne and chips, I'm now sat here with stomach cramps, problem is I don't know if that is down to what I have eaten or the spotting I have been experiencing for the last couple of days, it could be period pains, even though I was only on 10 days ago...... really feel like I'm falling apart....... Aaghhhhh .........

Sorry to hear you are feeling rough. I eat mostly low fat foods and I know when I eat out and have foods with high fat content (lasagne and chips definitely fit this category!) my guts always protest and I feel slightly ill and often can't sleep! I just suck a few of those chalky indigestion tabs, and cut down on the acidic food - fruit and tomatoes etc until it gets back to normal.

Hope you're feeling better today.

I would know the difference between food effects and period pains ;-).  Different area of the body. Different type of pain.

How R U now?

my stomach feels a lot better today, its weird as the pain is low down in my stomach and comes in waves, and it also  feels tender just under the ribs in the middle, maybe its a mixture of the two! LOL - period pain and food!!!!! as I have brown discharge today..... I just cant win, new body would be good! LOL

I find I get more stomach / wind issues around ovulation time (14-16) and also just post period. A GP gave me Rantidine and told me to take it as and when I get the flare ups...I find it very good, think it is an anti inflamatory. My digestion has definately co-incided with my peri / period cycle changes though...and the dreaded brown gunk! I remember giving a south American locum GP a vivid discription of my brown stringy gunk when I was really hyped up about it 18 months ago and he just looked at me dead pan and said in a wearly voice ' yes madam I know exaclty what you  are talking about."..like he had heard it all a million times!

Thanks for your reply.
I'm still going round in circles, I'm now on rantidine, I take it every night. I'm also trying a wheat free diet at the moment to see if it helps, not sure if it is or not, been on It now for 4 weeks, I'm not getting as many rumblings in my stomach, but I have lost half a stone, so now only weigh 8 and a half stone!
but I still get days when I feel like I need to go number 2's but cant, heavy feeling in bottom of stomach etc.... and I have had a few days when it went the other way and cant stop going, so not sure if its helping or not, I am finding it difficult to do, as I'm a carer for my mum who is still eating wheat and I do her food shopping and cook for her and my hubby,.... really hard not to eat it................
