I did reply within a few days but unfortunately I left it mid way to do tea and when I went to Continue it was all deleted !!

Basically my docs just filed results from previous 2 scans so in the end I had to chase it all the time this the referral to have it out.

I had an appointment for the referral quite quickly and I was going to tell you how it went, the appointment with Surgeon was on Thursday this week.
Well the Surgeon looked at my very thin file and asked me what had happened to the two scan pictures !!  I said I didn't know  and knowing my luck they have been deleted !  So he has arranged for another scan with another hospitality where he also works to make the process quicker and couldn't believe their treatment of me and having pain on and off for the last two years.  If he had the scan pictures I could have had the op within two weeks!

So Scan in two weeks time. Then he's going to book me in for surgery it will be after my hols now in October he explained the procedure to me keyhole and out the same day unless their are any complications.
I think it's probably better this way as I may need more recovery time due to my Ms because I get exhausted quite a lot with that and with surgery it could be a lot worse than normal.

I've not had anymore attacks and am sticking to Skimmed milk from now on but it's strange that I can eat KFC with no problems .  There is so much fat in food and sugar you don't realise until you actually have to pay attention to it!

Oh and I couldn't find my original post even though I used the search bar to try and find it. Thus this one.

I'll keep you all posted. Oh and I rang my Doctor and asked if there was any other medication he coul prescribe me in case I get really bad pain whilst on Holidayin Cyprus and he's given me Co-codamol.

Hi there

Sorry to hear you've been having gallstone problems and I hope you get your scans and op without too much delay.

Having been through it myself I agree most people have no idea of fat content until you have to severely restrict it! I'm surprised you can eat KFC though!! I got to the point I was so scared of going over my fat allowance per meal and setting off another attack I was glad when it came out!

I just have trouble now with eating creamy or oily things, I either feel a bit sick or have an upset tum but being able to eat a little bit of everything has made eating out so much easier.

Hope you don't have too much trouble with it whilst you wait! It's the worst thing.....

Hi everyone

Well I've had my Gallblader removed on Tuesday this week 12 December 2017.  I had to arrive at Treatment Centre at 7,30am in Bristol which is about an hours drive away from where I live, so an early start on an empty stomach.

I am really tired right now as my ms has given me grief for the past two days
So I will return tomorrow with all the details.

Hi all

Not so tired today just had two full days of extreme exhaustion so maybe that was due to my op or possibly the fact that I have been off Hrt for 8 weeks as I seem to remember feeling like this last month as I get exhaustion regularly every month but never this bad.

So my Gallblader op went ok I was under for about an hour and and also I wasn't nervous like I usually am during hospital appts I think it is because my hormones weren't playing up! Date I say I really enjoyed my experience of having my Gallblader out, I couldn't fault the Hospital or the staff, when I came round I was asked what my pain was like between 0 and 10 the higher no the worst pain and mine I thought was a 3 reducing to a 2 two hours later.

I have four small incisions with dressing on and was prescribed Co-Codamol paracetamol and ibuprofen I have since stopped the Co-Codamol and my pain has been managed the last few days of the other two, so so far so good
I removed dressings yesterday and just have stery strips left on which will fall off in next week or two.

I think I have to continue taking the ppis and Ranitidine for the next couple of weeks to allow my stomach to recover from the op and from not having a Gallblader so far I'm not having any problems with food whilst on tabs which is an improvement as before I was having pain with most things I ate.
  I had my first mince pie yesterday 😃.

Glad the op went well!

I was shattered for the first couple of days, think it's pretty normal. I had very low blood pressure over night so didn't get much rest as every time I moved I set the saline drip off!

I had three holes and they healed really quickly, however, I would say it was around 5 weeks before I felt really well again. Don't over do things, although it's keyhole it's still a major op and there is lots of healing to do inside! Don't pick up anything heavier than 5kg either to minimise risk of hernia from the tummy button cut.

Hope you continue to do well and it means you can enjoy a few festive treats!
