Gel / tiredness
« on: July 15, 2017, 09:33:29 PM »

Has anyone taken the gel and found it hasn't been absorbed?  I've been using it now for about a month and seem to have every symptom of low estrogen, which seems impossible. I'm using 3.5 pumps of gel which is almost the same as the estrogen in Qlaira on the just estrogen tablets and I didn't have any problems with that. My joints ache, I could sleep for 15 + hours a night, vaginal dryness, no lubrication, sore gums, loss of bone density in my mouth. i wondered if it's possible for the gel to not be absorbed, or is that really unlikely?

Vaginal dryness requires a different more localised treatment ;-).

CLKD it didn't appear on Qlaira which was the same estrogen as the gel, or on Femodene and didn't require a treatment then. It appeared rapidly wi than be to the gel, that's why I'm wondering if the gel is working at all

I haven't required HRT but for me, atrophy felt like razor blades up there  :o and using treatment really eased symptoms.

As oestrogen levels drop off so the body may become dry ...... including the vagina  :(.  My dryness mimicked urine infection-type symptoms.

It does sound like you're either not absorbing or you need a higher dose

Vaginal atrophy can develop even when using high dose oestrogen, it did for me so now I'm using oestrogen creams and gels and pessaries in every area to relieve the symptoms

I'm going to take a Qlaira 3mg estrogen for a day and see if there is a difference. I'm also going to take the gel to the consultant this week and show it to him. I'll report back on the Qlaira.
