Can anbody recommend good quality, reasonable priced jeans that fit well for a 5ft 3in short waisted pot bellied pear shape? 

I used to buy Bon Marche but they have changed the cut and the fit and the material quality

I quite like Dorothy Perkins bootcut petite range,  and also M&S but their sizing is all over the place.

Haven't got any.  If I have to wear denim, it's skirts for me!

Charity shops? Cheap so if a mistake is made, they can go back into recycling?  I bought all my dog walking jeans that way ….. didn't matter if they got ripped, muddy, messy.  I do find M&Co and Cotton Traders jeans the correct length (27") and in lovely colours ;-).

I always wore M and S Per Una jeans but I bought a pair of Debenhams Collection jeans last year and they fitted like a glove and they were cheaper.  I need petite length as I'm 5'1 and even the length was perfect, I also found the waist was higher so more comfortable. I now own 3 pairs because they are such good jeans for my shape.

I always wore M and S Per Una jeans but I bought a pair of Debenhams Collection jeans last year and they fitted like a glove and they were cheaper.  I need petite length as I'm 5'1 and even the length was perfect, I also found the waist was higher so more comfortable. I now own 3 pairs because they are such good jeans for my shape.

Might try them myself though everything I own at the moment seems to be from Debenhams Petite range!

Do they have any elastic in the waist at all?  My problem is size 14 hips and size 10/12 waist

They don't have elastic but they are stretch. A problem I get with jeans is that the waist is too low and gives a terrible "muffin top" but the Debenhams jeans actually reach my waist and feel more comfortable.

I struggle with Jeans too. Between sizes. M&S & Next cause similar problems with me. Smaller size causes muffin top, but stay in place. Larger size means no muffin top, but fall down. Hate wearing belts!

Ladies.....I enjoyed reading about jeans.
I'm at the opposite end........I have an inside leg of 31inches at 5ft 10......can't buy in store except Long Tall Sally, next on line only .......new look on line only......grr love tall but a pain for clothes xx

Woodlands - try M&S LONG length. I have 33" inside leg and the length on their long ones is long enough. My legs are out of proportion to my body so always a problem . M&S were always perfect but now they are making them to fit at the waist so the waist to top of the leg is longer (like Long Tall Sally) and too long for me (waist is  up under my bust!!)  Designed for a properly proportioned tall lady . So might be good for you
I'd love to be shorter but sounds like that is just as much of an issue
Someone mentioned skirts??? Where on earth can I buy a skirt.  Tried last week and couldn't find a single nice skirt.  All very tight and very short.

My daughter has 38" legs and 6 foot tall , top shop tall is about it.

Next were putting out their new stuff today and there were quite a lot of pleated longish skirts. Might be worth looking at

Thanks nearly 50 .  Used to shop there regularly when I was in my 20s but after a nasty experience with them I haven't been in for years. Might just be time to forgive them for the way we were treated
