Weird that we got the spot in the same place, Annie! Yes - I 'caught' it too - ouch!

I think everyone has to play it by ear with the alcohol - I know for some women it has seemingly given them a 'setback' for days if they had a drink (I never drink, so it's not going to be a problem for me)! ;)

Hi Tibolone Sisters

How are you doing ladies ?

For me - I really need to avoid wine  >:( I took a chance yesterday had two bottles of Peroni followed by 2 small glasses of white wine, all before I took my tablet. My husband said it's along time since he has seen me so drunk and I came across aggressive :-\ went to bed at 7:00pm and up at 11:00pm being violently sick  ::) I do enjoy a drink and before Tib I could drink double that amount and only be tipsy.

Just to add the dizziness is getting much better. Morning anxiety along with morning sweats are my problem since Friday...... When I reflect on how bad I was the first 4/6 weeks I am so much better esp since starting pack 3.

Will pop in again later to read any updates.

Oh bless your heart, Warwick! I haven't been able to drink at all since my hysterectomy when I was 36! :o

I'm so glad that you're feeling better though since starting pack 3 - that's really encouraging!  :)

Yesterday for me was ok, and today the same until about 3pm when I was hit with a wave of extreme fatigue quickly followed by nausea and then anxiety that lasted about 45 minutes. It really caught me off guard! Whew! I know I should expect things like this to happen though.

Maybe you're turning that corner at last. Hugs!!!! xxxxx

Hi Tempest,

Both Suzanne and Jules said things only started to settle into the 3rd pack. I agree some symptoms have settled, although new ones have appeared but not has troublesome.  Mood a bit low in the afternoons last few days but that could be due to alcohol.

Just to add the reason for drinking yesterday was because we went out for lunch and due to my social anxiety feel a drink that calms me down ???

Stick with it Tempest you have come so far ;)

Thank you so much, Warwick! :)

Yes, I remember Suzanne and Jules saying this. I'm experiencing a 'slump' around 3pm but this is true for most people - it's when our blood sugar's typically fall (that old cherry again)! It can make you feel low and lethargic, so I'm pacing myself with smaller meals throughout the day.

I hope you managed to enjoy your lunch, though! Was it in lieu of your birthday meal? Who knows quite why the alcohol behaves so weirdly with this - I'm thinking it's because of the way the drug metabolises.  :o

Thank you so much again for always sending me words of encouragement! Hugs!!!! xxxxx

Ladies I just had a notification for the patient forum and Tibolone

Someone was mentioning that some women do better on half a tablet than the 2.5mg but still get the benefits , worth considering

Another email that popped up was about proponolol (sp?) being a good BB for palpitations and that studies have shown that contrary to what we are told sometimes, it can actually help asthmatics .  As the gp went to offer me BB a couple of years ago she stopped when she realised I'm asthmatic (again developed at the beginning of peri) so I might ask about them, apparently this particular BB is very effective in also treating situational anxiety!

Annie, we also can't use BB's as they block the action of our epipens and this could have deadly consequences! I checked with my Cardiologist and he said it was a BIG no no!  :o xxxxxx

Me too, Annie!!!! Totally!!!!! This would have been the perfect solution for me too so many times, but I just can't have them because of the epipens. BB's block adrenaline essentially, and that's what epinephrine in our pens is - so you can see the problem. I asked the Cardiologist as I thought there may be at least some unique BB that might be ok, but no. They all work in the same way (I was kinda dumb to even think there may be at least one obscure one that might be ok)! :'( :'( :'(

This is why my Psychiatrist suggested occasional use of Phenergan - I know Suzanne used it in the early days of Tibolone for sleep, but you can use a small dose (half a tablet) which would have a calming effect if you wanted to give it a go. And of course it's an antihistamine and you can buy it over the counter (my Psychiatrist says it's one of the safest and they use it in pediatric psychiatry too for its calming effect).  xxxxxx

I might try that then Tempest, I'm in desperate need to sleep earlier at night

Years ago my health visitor recommended phenergan for my daughter who was a bit hyperactive and poor sleeper but I chose to ride it out, I didn't understand what it was meant for or she didn't explain it so I didn't bother

You know I'm actually gutted about the BB and epipens, I was willing to try them and see how the asthma fared

Have I mentioned I'm gutted ????!

😢 X

Me too. Totally gutted!!!! It would have been such a simple solution and believe me, my Psychiatrist said he would have tried them months ago! He actually said to me 'you're never straightforward, are you'? No kidding, Sherlock.........  :o xxxxx

So is phernergan safe ? I've just been reading up about it and shocked it shouldn't be given in under 2s. My daughter was about 20 months when HV advised it ! Mind you I'm talking 1989

It may help with my skin sensitivity too plus I've now developed a feeling that I've sniffed a load of water with burning feeling x

Hello ladies.

I just wanted to say again how helpful you are being by detailing your experiences with Tibolone.  All very interesting and an excellent service to the forum lol. Incidentally on another thread someone noted that it was possible to take Tibolone every third day for symptom relief.

Take care ladies.

Oh believe me, it's safe Annie! My Psychiatrist has to be VERY cautious with me! As you know, I have myriad drug allergies too. Suzanne took it alongside the Tibolone, and slept well on it. As I said, a smaller half dose can be used to calm anxiety too - maybe give it a try at home one evening at this dose to see how it affects you. I haven't used it yet as I wanted to try one thing at a time to see how the Tibolone works (Psychiatrist was in agreement with this plan). But I do have them at the ready in my drug cupboard. xxxxx

Hi,  Kathleen! Will you be joining us soon? I think a small daily dose of half a tablet of Tibolone is more advisable as otherwise it can be a bit 'up and down'. xxxxx
