Just popping by to see how we're all doing? It's gone a bit quiet here lately......... :-X

How are you managing, Warwick? I know you've now started pack 3. I'm on day 37 and it's all still rather up and down (dose generally feels rather 'spikey' throughout the day). Sleep is ok for me at the moment - probably from about 12.30 through to 6.30. Energy levels are very low indeed - not managing to do too much. Anxiety is still an issue - I'm really not convinced that the Tibolone is going to do anything to help this to be honest! Also random crying spells. I think I'm prepared now to give this 3 months as I've come this far with taking it and then review (unless anything worrying develops whilst on it). If I'm still having significant issues with anxiety/mood, I may have to rethink as I'd like to try the Quetiapine that my Psychiatrist suggested and I'm not happy about mixing meds. with this Tibolone as it's a bit strange with what it interacts with! I'm going to be seeing him at the beginning of March again - I'm definitely not as chipper as when I saw him a couple of weeks ago and I've asked for my appointment to be brought forward.

The eye issue seems to have resolved - which is good. Feeling dizzy and off kilter is still an issue, off and on. No massive joint pains - just a bit creaky (which is just part of ageing, I'm sure)! No sign of flushes/night sweats, just a bit of warmth but it has got quite a bit milder the last few days.

I'd love to hear your updates! xxxxx

Hi Tempest

Day 50 for me

PROS: wellbeing seems slightly improved as does mood

Hair seems more manageable

Sleep ok BUT still not dropping off until after 1am

Morning hangover feeling gone by about week 3 I think

Socialised this week with no weird moments even though I was thinking about it

CONS: seem bit more achy (but could be age)

Itchy skin (trying to be vigilant with antihistamines, but long term allergy sufferer, dermatography noticeably increased

4llb weight gain but that's me having no willpower with stuffing my face, plus weight has been up and down anyway during meno

I've never suffered like other ladies here with dizziness and jelly legs

My hopes for Tibolone
Libido
Good sense of wellbeing
Say goodbye to menopausal social anxiety

I'm experiencing another phase of dry mouth and foot cramps, these have been happening intermittently throughout meno

I really need this to be the right regime as oestrogen alone causes problems and gels/patches/pessaries altogether was a nuisance, my only other option is try nothing, which doesn't feel appealing to me xxx

Thank you so much for sharing, Annie! It helps us all seeing how we're all doing and at what stage in taking the Tibolone. You've had some positive improvements there! :)

I don't think we can expect Tibolone to fix everything (as you've so wisely said to me before). For me personally, I'm starting to separate my psychiatric issues from my post menopausal issues so if I don't see too much in the way of improvement as I said, I will bow out of taking Tibolone and commence the mood stabiliser with a view to adding in low dose transdermal ERT POSSIBLY once I'm stable (hopefully) on the Quetiapine for bone and heart protection.

Whew! We really are all different aren't we? It's great that we can all come together and share our experiences here, though!

Hugs!! xxxxx

Yes we really are all individuals with some similarities that's why it proves one size does not fit all.

We all have our own personal goals too and it's important we weigh up the problems that need addressing and work towards improving them being mindful along the way there's no miracle cure and that some symptoms may not go away and we may develop new ones depending on our choice of help available

For someone who has been plagued with dizziness since meno started I'm amazed (and really relieved) that   Tibolone hasn't cursed me with that, I have to admit that that would probably cause me to stop as I'm sure it's the dizziness that snowballed into me suffering social anxiety, because of the absolute dread of passing out in public, of course my logical mind reminds me that it hasn't happened in meno but when you get all the physical symptoms of distant hearing, racing heart, dizziness and then detachment it's really hard to not panic and worry

Like I said, I've been hurled in social events lately, the work conference, the lunch out and the meal out and quiz night and although it was on my mind and I was worried about other issues, I actually did ok with none of the near fainting feelings.  There's a long way to go and we're away for the weekend next week with a couple I don't know that well so that will be a good test

Whatever helps you Tempest, we are all only here once so must go with what gives a quality of life xxxxx

You're doing brilliantly, Annie! :)

You've really brought everything together lately - you've faced your fears of social anxiety (part of the key to conquering anxiety is facing it - I remind myself of this every day and it IS true), you've found a solution that works for you with your hair loss that has built your confidence and you've found an HRT that at least hasn't caused you any worrying side effects (I still swear unapposed estrogen makes anxiety much, much worse)!  :o

I really think you're moving into a happier, more confident place by addressing all these things! Proof indeed that we need to look at everything in our lives, not just rely on HRT as a 'miracle cure'.

Well done you!!!! This makes me so happy - I hope things just get better and better for you (and that the achy bits improve too)! ;) xxxxxx

Hi Ladies

Annie - it's so nice to read your update. Tibolone seems to suit you :) for the same reason dizziness in peri was when my social phobia started.

Tempest - you and I appear to have exactly the same symptoms. Suzanne I know struggled until week 12...... so hope for us ;)

Update - day 3 week 9

I have changed the time I take my tablet to 4:00pm. Not sure if this has upset things but this morning has seen a return of sweats, anxiety+++ feeling of doom I'm  trembling as I type. However for the last seven days the dizziness is milder, foggy head not as bad. Achy joints still a problem. Also feel better as the day goes on.

I had 3 small bottles of beer last night... not sure if that has made a difference.

Will finish the pack and see how thing are.

Wxx

So far I think Suzanne's journey is the most interesting isn't it ?

She had a rocky road and has seemingly got through it

I don't want to portray myself as this is a miracle for me.  I'm far from who I was but feel more comfortable lately with who I've become if that makes sense. I'd love the day I walk out the house not worrying about where I'm going or who I will bump into.

Day 96.

The sweats, shivers flushes and mood swings are still gone, the aches and pains too. I've had three months of uninterrupted sleep and still can't get used to it. This is because for the best part of 14 years, I haven't had one night without waking up drenched, or sweating like horse during the day I can't believe its taking me this long to believe that they've been well and truly banished.  Isn't the mind a powerful and funny thing.

Hi ladies,

I feel I have no right to be in this thread, but until October comes (and hopefully without periods) I am considering Tib as an option and your experiences have been a tremendous help.

Blakeygray, that's great news! Yes, the mind is powerful and to control that power is my ultimate goal in life. I hope Tib keeps working for you at least for the next 14 years without flushes, aches, pains and mood swings!

Dear Warwick! Hopefully the change to 4pm will suit you better (and yes - the beer might have had something to do with it. Alcohol is weird with this stuff in the early days)!  ;)

That is BRILLIANT, Blakeygray! Long may it last for you......I love a cheery story! :)

Aww Annie - but you've done so well all by yourself! Truly! Take a compliment - you deserve it. :)

Menomale - you have every right to be here! Anyone who's interested can join in - we're always happy to hear from you anyway! :)

Anyway, after earlier's dismal start, I seem to have picked up some ENERGY from somewhere! Had shower earlier - chest a bit spotty. :o But that's ok - maybe the T is finally starting to show itself. Fingers crossed........ ;) xxxxx

Oh I forgot to mention the one negative! My ability to hold my drink.

Prosecco, ginger wine, asti, sherry, all my favourites are now either contraband or I'm limited to less than half a glass if I want to stay sober or not feel giddy  >:( :-\ :'( :)

Mine was at the base of my scalp too, such a shock when I itched it . Ouch

Alcohol - I can still drink Bacardi and Diet Coke but only a few before I'm really tipsy, Friday I just couldn't stomach the 4th one

No hangover Saturday either x
