I wonder then if gentle rinsing with this might help? Your GP and Consultant will know about Sterimar, or you can buy it at the pharmacy but do check with the experts or at least the pharmacist first! Sterile salt water is a great promoter of healing and can help clear infection. It may be what you need just to soothe and clear. I'm wondering if the drops you were using have irritated your mucous membranes? If so, this will take a while to heal too (and the Sterimar would help with that)! xxxxx

ENT told me to use these steroid nose drops twice a day for 6 weeks ! I don't see him til 20 March but due to stop using these end Feb.  They were fine in the completely blocked phase but I'm starting to wonder now if they'll harm that area now there's some obvious clearing .  I hate being left to my own devices like this not knowing.

Strange thing is though I'm having less allergic reactions and my asthma is really controlled !

I'll probably ask the surgery about your suggestion Tempest, thank you (mwah) xx

Hi Annie and Warwick! How are you doing today? Woke up with really weird fluttering and rumbling in left ear today.....Which has me panicking a bit! :o Not been anywhere to catch anything, so I'm hoping it's because I've 'slept funny'. Evening/night sweats we're pretty brutal last night too....

Hope you're both ok! xxxxx

Morning Tempest

How strange with your ear?
Had a nice evening with OH (you know) all successful

Woke up feeling bit flat (still not sleeping til 2am, have to lay in bed with headphones watching YouTube to send me to sleep) but after a shower not feeling too bad.  Keep getting cramp in R hip if I move it out and ankles keep getting stiff then painful when trying to loosen them

I'm noticing warmth come over me, forgot to say a few days ago, not often but it gives me an agitated feeling then I'm ok again

Hope today goes smoothly for you xx

Hi Ladies

Tempest - strange about the ear thing. I have noticed I get a feeling of my ears being full like when your descending on a plane....... only started last few weeks.

Annie - your doing really well, glad you and DH enjoyed your evening ;)

Update from me day31

The only issue for me is the strange head feeling accompanied by dizziness, really freaks me out >:(
and is the only reason I scared to leave the house (imagination runs wild) think I mentioned my phobia of fainting.

The last hour suffered a constant hot flush although I did sleep ok last night and mood is much better, not as agitated. Up to now no adrenalin surges.

Still taking tablet at 10:00am, I can feel I'm ready for the top up!

Hi Annie and Warwick!

Glad to hear you had a nice night, Annie! ;) :bed:

It's a horrible thing, this ear business and I hope it's not here to stay! Only the tip of the iceberg compared to you though, Annie!

I don't like this dizziness at all either, Warwick - or the strange leg feeling! I'm wondering if it will ever go away completely....... :(

I also hate how I feel like a complete junkie when my dose is due - I can really feel it but I know it's early days for me! So you're still getting  this after 31 days, Warwick? I don't like to pester our seasoned Tibolone ladies but it would be good to have some more input as to whether this whole lot settles down. I can't stop thinking that because Tibolone is weakly estrogenic that it might not be enough....... :o

Annie - I got a few spots second week. All gone now

Tempest - I am still of the opinion we are on the right track. With you and I it's the fact we have gone from oestrogel (in my case 3 pumps) to Tibolone. Remember it's not the same as other HRT yet the reviews for Tib post and surgical menopause are far more positive.

As I have said previously it feels to me as if the Tibolone is counter acting the symptoms of both menopause and withdrawal effect of oestrogel (hope that makes sense) It's a matter of time for all to settle :(

Like Suzanne has said..... it takes about 2 months for things to settle. Yes like you I am still at day 31 experiencing symptoms but my mood is better.

Just to add - when I had my first meno melt down at 49 I had problems with my balance and ears, I was told it was Labrinthytis had such a heavy bleed and also fainted. It took 6 weeks to settle THAT WAS THE BEGINING FOR ME....

 Dear Warwick!!!

Thank you, thank you for forever being the voice of reason! Do you want to come and live with me?  Bring Annie too, there's plenty of room...... ;D  ;)

God, I'm an impatient bugger!!! Yes, I DO feel much better than on the Estrogel! I'm my own worst nightmare and have to stop freaking out! I've said to Annie before, what the HELL happens to us when we go through menopause? It's like self doubt rules, and confidence goes right out of the window.....

I know someone said it's like puberty in reverse. I guess they're right. I used to hole up in my bedroom, wracked with self doubt about my self image and crying over my Human League records....... :o

If it wasn't for you guys, I think I would have imploded by now......Thank you so much (again)!

Hugs!!! xxxxx

Thanks Warwick

I think there should be menopause homes that we can go to til we're ready for the world and families again !

I just keep telling myself this is my best chance of normality, I may well be just talking myself into the fact this is my magic pill and come down to earth with a bump but I need to keep on track and remember that oestrogen alone doesn't help me and oestrogen + testosterone gel + vagifem + Sylk left my poor head in a right spin.

Hello ladies.

I'm not in your Tibolone tribe as yet but I thought I would chime in!

Warwick - on another thread I mentioned that I was diagnosed with labrynthitis the same month I had my last proper period. I had a slight bleed five months later but nothing since and my periods had been heavy and regular up until then.

Tempest - I understand that puberty takes five years so could menopause be the same? Certainly the emotional upheaval feels similar.

I think it's great that you are all detailing your experiences and if I join your tribe I hope I can be just as helpful and informative.

Wishing you all well.

All this talk of balance problems/labyrinthitis has caused a lightbulb moment for me.  In 2007, when I was early peri (but didn't know it) I had a couple of episodes of Mal de Debarquement Syndrome brought on by 2 ferry crossings (see http://www.mdds.org.uk/).  The second episode lasted around 6-7 months and The only time I didn't feel it was when I was driving. I thought it had come on because I've always suffered with bad motion sickness, but now I'm wondering if hormone imbalance had something to do with it.

I also developed low grade tinnitus about 5-6yrs ago and I would say it's slightly improved on Tibolone in the last couple of weeks, but I could be imagining that!
