Hi Tempest

That's a bummer he didn't call  >:(
I've often wondered could I have carried on with the prolapse and maybe had a better menopause.  It wouldn't have felt like it for those 13 great years but I'd love insight into how I would've fared in a natural decline of hormones

Hope you feel better as the evening goes on xxxx

Thanks, Annie! Yes, I'm very disappointed and it hasn't done anything for my anxiety either! My GP wanted me to check in with him about the Tibolone, so he has no idea I've started it. :-\ I phoned his secretary and she said she did remind him, but said that all she could do in the interim is offer me an appointment for 2 weeks time (he doesn't have any slots for next week).

I'd like to think that right now, all I'm getting with the Tibolone is side effects and no therapeutic benefit, plus as Warwick experienced withdrawal from the Estrogel. Today has been TOUGH. I'm finding first thing in the morning before I take the tablet very hard as I'm very jittery and off balance, with very low blood pressure and the 'peak' of the dose at 3pm (increased anxiety). I just don't know why I feel every bump with HRT! I've been trying to  keep myself distracted but I feel every rise and fall, no matter what I use! :'( I wish I had happier news to report......I'm so glad Warwick has had a good day as this does cheer me up no end. xxxx

Aw Tempest, that´s really disappointing. Do you think your psychiatrist will be of any help regarding Tibolone? You seem to be very sensitive to hormonal changes and maybe Tibolone is going to work differently because it is not a hormone, although it mimics hormones' activity. Maybe try a different time to take it? I was so hopeful you would do good on Tibolone... you deserve to be free of this hell! Sending you good vibrations

Menomale, thank you so much for your incredible kindness!  :thankyou:

I was meant to 'check in' with my Psychiatrist on my GP's instructions as I've recently been diagnosed with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and my GP wanted me monitored closely in case the shift in hormones 'triggered' unusual anxiety or depression. It's all got rather complex for me lately, I'm afraid! :-\

Aw Tempest :-(

I took mine at 6pm again today.  This afternoon I had a burst of energy but can't hoover more than one room without resting as my back doesn't cope.  But anyway took it at 6pm and have felt slightly jittery and right now I could sleep for England, resisting it as I'm not dropping off until between 1-2am then groggy in the morning

I'm ok, just slightly wired and a headache came on but went again without painkillers.. still not enough symptoms to affect me but if the jitteriness was any worse it'd affect me xxx

Tempest, have you ever had your DHEA and DHEAS levels checked? There are some recent articles showing a very strong correlation between these pro hormones levels and PTSD. I can pm you some links if you're interested.

Hi Tempest

Just to remind you and reassure you - I felt exactly the same. Mornings were my worse time, would feel dizzy, jelly legs, nausea, adrenalin surges in fact all my body would shake. I also had really bad headaches I spent most of the day just lying on the bed until around 4sh when I felt better. I will say, I am seeing some improvements with everything (day 30) today. still taking Tib AT 10:00AM

Have you got anything to help short term like Valium if you need It ? even knowing it's in the draw sometimes helps esp when ruminating.

I do think it's mainly due to the withdrawal from oestrogel. I did think of giving up on tibolone a couple of times but I'm glad I hung on to the ride ;)

I really know how your feeling and with you all the way ;)

Off to take day 30 tablet now...... Wx

Thank you so much, dear Warwick!  :)

I'm so glad that you're starting to turn a corner! I hope most of our nastiness has been withdrawal from the estrogel. >:( I think Annie sounds like she's having an easier time of it, so maybe her switching from patches is easier?

I do have Valium in the house but very feared to take any with the Tibolone in case it messes it up in some way. :-\

I'm getting some particular nastiness around 3pm which is when I think the dose is starting to peak. Ugh!!

Today is day 8 for me - and you've made it to day 30! That's brilliant! Do pop in later and let us know how your day's  going won't you?

Hugs! xxxxx

Hi lovely ladies

Did I post yesterday I felt a bit odd around 6pm Ish?
Slightly shaky, mild palps, just a sense of uneasiness, I flowed with it and chilled watching tv.  Just wanted to deep sleep but resisted.

Struggling to get to sleep at night, am averaging 1-2am, nearer 2am

Wee soul, Annie!! :'(

Maybe this is the build up from the patches dropping? I know you've been on them a long time. I think it takes a good while for this to leave your system. Warwick and I have both experienced drops - it's really very disturbing when this happens! Or it could now be that you don't have that 'buffer' of stored estrogen in your system and you're feeling a drop when dose is low/due - what time did you take your tablet?

If the sleep problem persists, maybe try switching to the AM for taking the tablets?

Sending you biggest hugs! xxxx

I could try morning

May not be related but have woken with an aching/painful left elbow and left finger joints feel bit achy

I had tennis elbow in right one a few years ago and OH is currently in a 4 month phase of one.  Hope it's not that

In 18 years this is the first time I've not had direct oestrogen in/on me so you could be right that any side effects might for me might take longer to present

That's wonderful news warwick! (I desperately need them today). It seems that you´re in the right way, fingers crossed that good days will outnumber the grim ones. When I understand why perimenopausal women cannot take Tibolone, I will consider giving it a try.

Did you see I answered earlier in the thread where you previously raised this question? It is because of irregular bleeding as with all continuous combined no-bleed HRT types in pre-menopause - no other reasons have been given, that I can find!

Sorry for skipping that... I'm still confused, if I don't mind having irregular bleedings then can I take Tibolone in perimenopause?
