Hi Annie - hope your first day at work is ok and not too challenging ?

Tempest - How are you doing today ?

Kathleen - I am %100 sure in my case and other women's the hormone fluctuations have had an impact of balance. There is some evidence on a Vestibular disorder site and Dr Silver migraine specialist supports this too. A friend rang me several weeks ago, she is 47 and told me she is suffering from Labrinthitis........ such a coincidence.

Update on me day 32

Had a restless night sleep last night, no sweats just couldn't sleep.
Mornings are without doubt the worst for me. Tried to do some shopping this morning but my legs feel like jelly and shaking through my body that was at 9:00am. Had my tablet at 10:00am and start to feel better from 12:00. No adrenalin surges upto now ;) mood good...... so I can see some improvement.......yay :D far better than week 2.

Still taking one day at a time. Does anyone know if Suzanne went straight onto Tibolone from another HRT???just interested.

Will pop in later Wxx

Hi, Warwick!

Yes, very dicey night for me too! Sweats really bad from 5am onwards. I'm also feeling pretty low today - lots of tears and regrets (every day occurance I'm afraid) about my surgery.

I need to pull it together as we have 2 other ladies today in surgical menopause struggling and needing support - if you're  reading this ladies, I WILL reply I promise!

We DEFINITELY need a dedicated area for surgical menopause ladies on MM - failing that, maybe setting up a forum all of our own! It's evident our needs are many and complex, and we're not getting the help we need from the health care profession. I'm seeing more TAH/BSO  ladies arriving here lately!

Sorry to go off topic, but this is at the forefront of my mind right now.

I hope the Tibolone settles down for all of us, Warwick - and hope Annie is coping ok at work! xxxxx

Yes - I can tell just by reading your e-mail your mood is low :(

I'm sure you've been told this many many times. None of us can change what's happened in the past. But we can learn from our mistakes, which includes not always taking the word of 'specialists' speak to others, do our research etc. A friend of mine had a total historectomy and was discharged with no HRT just a 3 month follow up appointment. She was a wreck, suicidal the lot. I gave her the advice to go and have a private consultation with a HRT specialist. Even he couldn't believe the aftercare. She was give 75mg Estrodot....... doing ok now :)

Finding the correct medication isn't easy but stick with Tibolone for 2 months and see how you feel then. In your case, unlike me you stopped the Tib cold turkey, I don't think you will be getting full effect of the Tibolone after 8 days, that's why your getting flushes, night sweats. I would say 4 weeks before you notice the good effects and 2 months to review if it suits you.

Do something that makes you feel good. I love treating myself on line or look at holidays, or even a weekend break. At our age life is too short, we need to find our own health and happiness.

Take Care Wxx

Hi there Tempest - there is nothing to stop you having a long running thread like the Burning Club. If it was used and bumped regularly then women would post and it would be really helpful to others to read through and would all be in one place. There is also a long running Utrogestan/Estrogel support thread which does something similar. No-one said these should be long running - it just happened.  I see there is already one with a suitable title that joolea has started for her situation so why not add to it - just a suggestion :)

Hope you feel better soon...

Thank you so much for your caring words, Warwick.  :)

It's been 9 days since I used Estrogel, 10 days on the Tibolone. I know - you suggested a phased stoping/starting, which was very wise but I went with my Specialist's advice of a straight switch from one to the other. Wish I hadn't now! But as you say, regrets and all that........

Thank you too, Hurdity! There are more and more TAH/BSO ladies just lately, have you noticed? I'll heed your advice about the thread. :thankyou: And thank you too for the well wishes....... :)

Hello ladies

I went to work a nervous wreck (for other reasons !) and managed ok but my anxieties over this other matter really put a huge dampener on me

A horrible little pattern is forming that I can't get to sleep until about 2am but could sleep for England at 7pm (I resist) I take my Tib at 6pm

I was also worried today that my ability to work things out with hours/rates etc would be compromised since Tib but again I was ok, I think, tomorrow I will know how many mistakes I've made

Aching joints have set in, I've read that on here and thought I'd got away with it

Maybe I need to start taking the pill at 10pm if I'm getting tired an hour after taking it? I might try that today

Tempest, I really do hope your mood lifts, you are really helpful with advice and warmth and I just want the best for you, whatever/whichever way that happens I just hope it comes quick for you

Hugs ladies xxxx

Oh, Annie! I've been thinking about you all of today..........! You're a wee soldier, truly!!!

I already see a pattern emerging with the Tibolone too despite only being on it a very short time. I'm like a 'junkie' first thing until I get my dose in at 9.30 am and until about noon. Then I'm ok, and feel horribly weird from 3pm onwards until about 9.30 pm. Sleep is ok until around 5 - 6 am when the sweats start. Joint pain is already an issue - most noticeable today. Bladder frequency is a nightmare too and dryness with soreness down below. I'm hoping this is just due to a sudden drop in estrogen from quitting the gel!

Overall, I feel very lethargic and achy all over.....in a way, I'm HOPING it's a virus!

Hopefully if you take your dose at 10pm Annie you might be able to flop into bed for some well needed sleep! You must be truly exhausted......Sending you biggest hugs and many thanks for always showing such kindness to others, especially when you're dealing with so much yourself! xxxxxx

Aw thankyou Tempest :-)

Do you use vagifem and Sylk ? They are my best friends lately

Cramps : they're back but I'm not blaming Tib, yet.  I think I need to add in magnesium again, that usually works

I get palps about an hour after taking Tib, it's this reason I don't want to take it in the mornings, I wouldn't linked it to the pill taking until I've read your stories , it reminds me of whenever I tried to increase estradot the palps were unbearable

Onwards and upwards ladies :-) with hugs xxx

I have Ovestin, but don't want to use it as I have an issue with chlorhexidine so need to get some Vagifem asap! I also have some Sylk which I will definitely crack open in the meantime. ;)

How do you take your magnesium Annie, and what can you recommend as a product seeing as how were both so allergic? I definitely want to add this in in any case but have always been nervous - you know how it is with us serious allergy types. I try to keep it simple, but blow it! I need to throw everything I can at my well-being right now! (Here's to onwards and upwards)! xxxxx

There's a few ways for magnesium

Different magnesium supplements have different benefits so best to google what you do/don't want as side effects/benefits...... if you google 'different types of magnesium supplements' it should direct you

Or, magnesium spray

Or, soak in epsom salt bath (cupful) for at least 20 mins xxx

Thank you, Annie! I've often thought of trying the spray, actually. I probably should add in calcium and vitamin D too but I have issues with vitamin D. It increases my anxiety......this is not uncommon! Apparently, this is NOT an issue if you take it with magnesium. Best I start googling........ :) xxxxx

I never knew that about Vit D causing anxiety

I liked the magnesium I had because it helped my bowels , I've had terrible issues in recent past with constipation, fissures then the faecal impaction which resulted in the anaphylaxis from some medication for it

Tempest,
I have an allergy to chlorohexadine gluconate, which is in savlon and Hibiscrub, but I'm fine with Ovestin which contains chlorhexidine dihydrochloride.  I use it externally as well as Vagifem internally and it's made a huge difference- more than the Vagifem which I've been using for a while but had no effect externally on my VA.

Might be worth doing a patch test to see if you react?
