Utrogestan is usually under ‘micronised progesterone in their drugs book. Utrogestan is bio identical but doesn't suit everyone - it is advisable to try the sequential regime first to see how you tolerate the Utrogestan, as taken continuously can make one feel rather sedated. We are all different and the bleeds with Utrogestan can vary greatly - some problematic bleeding and spotting is common with Utro.
Oestrogel allows flexibility with dosage but some don't like having to apply it every day. Patches are popular as an alternative. Look under Oestrogens to see your options.
If you really want a convenient non bleed regime then it's worth considering having a Mirena as this generally gives fewer progesterone side effects and allows you to use as little or as much oestrogen as you need. Initial side effects and bleeding usually subsides within 2-6 months with the Mirena.
All HRTs need a 3-6 month settling time but it is trial and error. Good luck DG x
