I used that surgical spirit on my OHs expensive jeans, (didn't really know if I should, 🙀)
he got black oil on the pocket from somewhere, and I'm pleased to report it came out!
I was dreading telling him I'd ruined em by experimenting with the stuff....
But no, alls good.....😂😂.  Phew....😥

Morning.  Advice required.

I have a lovely, acrylic jumper which has been in the charity pile and back out again so often in the last 25 years ! but does good service.  However, I can't remove the static.  I don't use softener ......... it's had a cool rinse and gently spin. Would vinegar get rid of the static?

Hi CLKD, I find if I have a dress with this problem if I spray the inside with hairspray right before putting it on that works. Don't know why but does the trick.

Does anybody know how to get dog hair out of clothes/washing machine please? My pup is losing her puppy coat and fluff is everywhere.

     Wear a 'marigold' glove to wipe round the inside of the drum worked when we had pets.  Or wash affected clothing in a pillow case though it may escape from the opening  .

I keep forgetting to check pockets for tissues. DH is a frequent offender and should, of course, remove them, but forgets. It’s a nightmare removing bits off the clothes and from the washing machine. Any suggestions how I can train DH? He finds all my swearing and temper tantrums amusing!

Tissues are better now that they don't go into such small pieces  - I usually give the clothing a very good shake outdoors.

I'm guilty of the tissues in pockets, but today went one better and covered a load of thermal Tshirts in tiny bits of down from a coat    I am so mad at myself right now. Trying to wash the Tshirts separately with everything crossed.

Anyway one place we lived we had a jacuzzi bath. They are wonderful at removing tissue etc. from clothes. Just pop the stuff in and give it a 5 minute "bath".

I find that on a blowy day hanging Ts on the line I can pick off the bits of washed tissue, great for birds' nests.

Still have a crackly jumper.

I made the mistake of washing a large red tablecloth with the towels. Covered with fluff. I used a clothes brush, which took ages and lots of swearing and then rewashed. Yet to iron and examine. Fingers crossed. Certainly looked better.

Hang it out and let the birds peck off the fluff ?
