Well on my way to shower this morning I caught sight of my naked self in mirror and got a bit of a,shock as my pubic hair seems to have thinned dramatically in what feels like overnight ! I can see my skin visibly through the hair, surely I cant be going bald there already I'm only fifty the hair on rest of my body seems ok .i assume I'm not the only one ?

Perfectly normal, next to go is the underarm hair, swiftly followed by leg hair... Usually...no more shaving!

I was 51 when it happened to me and that was the time my estrogen levels started to plummet. I know a woman in her forties who experienced this but yes you're right, it is a shock when it happens seemingly overnight

Feeling so upset by it I text my friend whose a year younger than me she said hers is patchy but reckons its our clothing rubbing it off?
I have had tears, and a lie down. I think my depression is coming back as its really upset me ,I feel old and redundant I just feel overwhelmed by it all

This would be the one symptom I would actually welcome. No more waxing and shaving would be a blessing. The hair on my 'florence' shows no signs of giving up ! X

Noticed mine is vanishing too. Not really bothered as it was always far too bushy( tmi) and annoyed me. I wonder if in future it won't seem such a big thing as most of the younger girls I know seem to whip it off anyway.
I think anything that reminds us that we are getting old is a shock.but as my GP says, we could have another 35 years ahead of us so we might as well look forward to what we have to come rather than live a life of regret.

Oh no, not at all. The alternative is 'fouff' and the man's bit is a tassle. Always has been, always will be.
Just nice to have been able to laugh about something x

Hi
Just a quick question to Walking The Dog, how are you going on the Duloxetine? Have you continued to decrease them?

Since last week I'm on 20 mg every other day of duloxetine. I wonder if withdrawals are hitting home now as have spent all after noon lying on top f bed crying I nearly rang crisis team as feel so low but I don't find them much help so try not too. I have found some valium I found stashed so I am going to hang on til about eight and take one then . I just feel like my life isnt worth living at the minute I haven't been this low in a long Time

Mine never really recovered from the Midwife shaving most of it off before an elective C-section!

It has remained quite patchy in that area for the last 10 years but yes, of late I have seen some real bald bits but like another poster said, I'm quite glad as it was always rather bushy and I'm not one for waxing!

Sorry it is upsetting you so much. I keep getting upset by 'Facebook memories'. It pops up with photos etc from a few years back and I get such a shock at how much I have aged in just a few years. It's depressing.

Sorry to hear that Walking The Dog. Hope you have some company at home.
Have you thought about trying an AD with a longer half life to bridge the gap maybe?
Thinking of you.

Sorry you feel so low WTD. I just tell myself that this too will pass. Sometimes it helps, other times I can't get out my own way. Sadly not even HRT can turn back time and we have to learn to value our new selves. Women are living longer and the rest of society needs to accept that there's more to is than what we look like! X
