Hi

Is this just another perimenopause thing going on and it is 'normal' to feel a bit sicky on and off all day? Started happening I'd say the last 3 weeks, seems I ease a symptom off and another one appears

Hello Angel45.

I have had nausea as part of this process and it is horrible so you have my sympathy. When it started it felt like morning sickness though it's odd that I should think that considering I didn't suffer during my pregnancies, I guess I just instinctively knew it was hormonal. Even now with HRT I can feel a bit sicky and I see from the patient notes that nausea can be a side effect of the patches I'm using. Oh the joys!
Hopefully other ladies will be along soon to comment, in the meantime all I can say is yes, it is normal...unfortunately.

Take care.

I instinctively thought morning sickness to, even though I never suffered with it when pregnant. It does seem to go off for a short while when I eat, I am at the moment just having 1 evening primrose tablet a day and a rosehip been having them for about 3 months so don't think it's that,
Your right CLKD it's another bugga!!

Thanks ladies

It's anxiety which makes me feel nauseous, which is also part & parcel of this journey. Joy of joys.

In my mind, I've always thought high levels of oestrogen cause nausea . That left me confused when I suddenly developed it at a time when I knew my oestrogen was low (had a blood test the same day, by coincidence).  Anyway, fast forward many months, and I am now taking the pill. Over six months, my symptoms have all but disappeared (touch wood). However, recently, during the pill free phase at the end of each month, they have returned with a vengeance. Main symptoms have been headache ... and severe nausea. Whilst it's annoying, it has proved that in my case, it's lack of oestrogen, not an excess of it, that makes me feel sick.

Does anyone else experience nausea as not just a stomach thing but like an overall malaise?

I feel nauseous but it doesn't come from my stomach.  It's hard to explain but it feels like it comes from my head, neck and chest area.  Feels like a giddy, sicky feeling, like sea sickness I suppose.

It's a strange feeling isn't it? Mine comes from neck tension - have got a couple of old whiplash injuries plus the usual wear and tear arthritis in the neck.
