There have been a couple of times when I have been in so much pain with my urethra burning 'like hell' I've been writhing around not knowing how to relieve the pain. I am wondering, if more of us who suffer with this type of pain ended up in hospital, would the medical profession take it more seriously and find a solution?
Peterspot - we will all be very interested to know how they treat you. Keep us posted. DG x

Hello.  Been her two days.  No scan. Just pain relief. No doctors. Have to face them tomorrow to take this thing seriously. Miss my family but getting no help here.  Off to bed with more morphine.  If I'm told to go back to my GP I will scream. If something helps me I will tell the world!
I'm hoping the esteogen is the key. worst time of my life

Typical NHS ....no doctors at the weekends unless it's an emergency.

Good luck for tomorrow.

Why aren't they going to do the ultrasound?

She said she wasn't sure it was the right test the said we will find out but I think they are not going to believe me & send me home. She wants to talk to the gynaecologist to get his notes. I will what but I think they will think it's in my head. Maybe I should have more faith

Maybe ask for a referral back to a urologist and come home with stronger pain relief. If they are not going to do anything then you would be better off at home I would think.

I did wonder about an ultrasound because it wouldn't show any trauma, just irregularities.

Hope they work out what's wrong soon. Do you feel any better today.

The pain is also the pain I've had for 6 weeks.  The pelvic congestion. I am so worn out by it. I just don't know anymore :( it's Not right to be in this much pain :( women are not mad when they have pain

I just feel this is something I'm going to have to live with this & be labelled as making it up. I want to try the cream but will anyone listen. The gynaecologist will probably not want to see me because I went to a&e. Always make the wrong decisions. Just venting as friends/family must sigh inside

Hi Peterspots, I feel your pain literally. Mine started last Feb after I got a UTI after sex. I had an initial cystoscopy in April and was told that my bladder was normal but the pain was excruciating. I had a further cystoscopy and biopsy under general anaesthetic with a different urologist last June and that indicated that I had interstitial cystitis. My bladder was badly inflamed but my urine samples were not showing any sign of infection. The pain has never really gone away and I also have pudendal nerve damage now which makes it really painful to sit down without a 'valley cushion'. I am wondering if you have some nerve damage - if you sit on the loo and relax everything does the pain get better, if so that may indicate that you have some damage to the pudendal nerve. Hope you feel better soon x
