I've got to pick it up. He called me but it was so rushed I didn't ask all the questions I wanted. Why did it happen? Could I be damaged? Are the tablets to cure the problem or just mask it. So frustrated I'm in this situation.  He just said he did 100 last week & in the only one who has reacted in this way

He also told me that least I didn't have bladder cancer which was what he was looking for. Going to treat myself with a cocodamal tonight! I will pick up tomorrow but after reading things on here I don't know whether to request the cream from Gynaecologist to see if that would have the same effect of calming it all done.  It did make sense that it could be irritation that is taking longer to heal/recover.  Feel I rushed into cysoscopy. Regret it so much. Feel like I'm slipping into feeling so low. It's wearing me out

Your GP can prescribe local oestrogen if he/she isn't clued up then ask the Practice Nurse.

Can't get in to see doctor or nurse. See gynaecologist on Wednesday & taking a friend. Will ask about the cream/tablet. I'm not keen about taking the antispasmodic drug or the long term antibiotics when he didn't explain what happened.

Peterspots, if you're in pain and the expert has prescribed these two things, why on earth not take them? if they help you will be more comfortable and able to have a more focused conversation with the gynae next week.

I understand. I'm just so angry to be in this situation but yes they could make a difference. I'm worried that they may mask something. He didn't really have any answers for me about what had happened. I am levothyroxine, hrt & painkillers but at the moment these symptoms that I didn't have before have made me housebound. I want to know what's wrong

I'm desperate for it to be something to do with the menopause or low oestrogen but I just don't know. I'm clutching at straws for an answer. I am so sad that my life has suddenly become so small & painful b

Why won't you take the medications as prescribed until you see the Gynae.?  The pain is there now, regardless of what caused it.  You have answered your query, 'clutching at straws' but what ever the cause, the medication should help.  You sound depressed and angry ……… which won't help the symptoms.

I am depressed & I am angry.

This whole situation is horrible & with all good faith I have the cystoscopy &
Things get so Much worse. My trust is gone. I feel like he just wrote the prescription (over the phone) to shut me up. If that isn't the problem the antispasmodic tablets could mess my bladder up even more or leave me with more problems.

Could they?  ……….. I didn't want to take anti-depressant meds until I found that a low maintenance dose gave me and DH a Life again.  I wanted to know what was causing my depression but professionals didn't or couldn't do any testing to find out.  Acceptance was the important thing for me.

What do you plan now?

I am depressed in the sense of hating what's happening to me. I don't know. Angry because I put myself in the situation of having the cystoscopy. Angry because of the debilitating symptoms I have because of.

1. Dose myself up on all they've given me.
2. Wait for a ct scan to see if there is any damage
3. I have no idea.

I have friends who have had their lives transformed with ADs

It sounds like the lack of control has made you angry?  By taking the medication as prescribed you may well find a relief to symptoms.  As an Orthopaedic Secretary I don't think many Medical Professionals will 'fob' people off with prescriptions to get rid of them  …… if a patient explains their symptoms clearly, the Dr/Vet can make the appropriate decision either at the bed side or over the 'phone ……… appropriate for the condition which is causing problems.

Yes my anger comes from having a procedure that has made me so much worse.


It has had such an effect on me &'my family

He basically said tough. It happens. Where does that leave me. I will take the medicine but I don't think he listened to me as my problem is pain not frequency. The medicine is for overactive bladder which I don't have

However, some medications can work for several symptoms so what have you to lose?  You signed the Consent Form presumably prior to the procedure?
