Clutter
« on: July 13, 2015, 03:23:49 PM »

Oh I have been de cluttering like mad over the past week or so. And it feels good.

I seem to hoard bedding and towels. I buy new and don't throw away the old ones  ::)

Today was the airing cupboard which had accumulated the biggest load of rubbish.  DD helped me and we filled three bin bags.

Anyone else hoard for no good reason.

Oh I've got a cupboard full of duvets & pillows, plus heaps of bed linen. Some bed linen gets recycled into decorating sheets. Replacing duvets this year as cheaper than getting them cleaned. I've dry cleaned myself in tumble dryer but they are looking proper minging nowadays.

Once when we moved house I had eight duvets in the loft. ::)

A lot of the sheets are now in the garage for dust sheets. The rest is going up the tip.

Last week it was my kitchen drawers where things just get thrown into.....I'm on a roll here  ;D

I can't stand all the clutter we have in the house but also hate having to sort it all into different categories for the tip. Do you have to sort yours honeyb or can you just dump it all in one place?

I can't clutter, I have to be clear.  I clear out things that I then need at a later date  ::)

Hubby is a horder but he has got better since he retired  :)

I keep telling myself I'll sort out my music, so that I can just have it all organised (excuse the pun!) and go straight to where I know something is.  Does this happen?  No. It's a bit like a bargain basement - I have to rummage if I need something.   ::)

We have one of these new tip things....very swish  ;D

Everything has to be sorted. I have about five bags in the garage at the moment. I ran out of bin bags but when I get them all the bags will have to be sorted out as to what goes where. There are so many skips with so many signs and so many bewildered people....including me. I might take the bags up and sort out when I'm there as I can't remember what goes where. On the plus side the tip is in the middle of nowhere up a huge hill so the views on a nice day are stunning. Out over the sea and onwards towards the islands  ::)....got to find a positive somewhere.

Well I'm not sure about a day out but it's pretty up there and there is a trout farm next door  ;D

It's a pain sorting out but they won't accept it otherwise. Guess where I'm going tomorrow...I've looked the flask out just in case  ;D

ours is one of those tips honey, a skip or a bin for everything you can think of and a recycle 'shop' too for Age UK.

My DH loves going to the tip! He asked my Dad to go with him who was excited. My DDs partner doesn't need an excuse to go and grandson is happy to go to. Is this a man thing? ;D

I grew up in clutter, but prefer neatness and order, but rarely achieve it. My daughter loves clutter. Says it is a sign of a creative mind! She's an artist, wonderful cook etc., so maybe there is something in that. :o

I quite like our tip so maybe not quite a man thing although I do have to say hubby wanders off to examine the containers you can walk into...looking for junk to come home maybe  ;D

The reason I like our tip is for the views....sad but true.

I can do untidy or clutter for a while but eventually it gets to me and it has to get cleared up or out  ::)

If clutter means creative, my daughter is exceptional creative   ;D

Over the years we have acquired a lot of "stuff", not helped by a few stints in furnished rentals / our stuff being in storage. When we did our last move but one we consolidated, and took some stuff to a boot sale, but we really didn't do a proper job and unfortunately when we moved into that house we managed to find homes for all of the "stuff". A year later we moved and I did the packing, which gave me an idea of the problem. I didn't have time to thrift when packing so when we arrived in this house I went through every box and got rid of everything I thought we didn't need. It took weeks and I had the local charity pick up on speed dial!
The only area I haven't managed to get downsized is the garage / workshop - that's DHs domain and he's a total hoarder (but not clutter - everything is neatly stored) so as I have reduced house content he has increased garage content  >:(
oh, and my clothes - I haven't worked for a few years but can't bear to part with my work stuff "just in case"  :-X

NNNOOOOO not the tip with towels - ask your Vet's whether they require any or the local rescue centre!

We have clutter++ - silver, gold, jewellery, pots in the garden; photos to be sorted into albums, photos to be framed, pictures to be hung …….I would love a property where all the stuff could be hung/stood and the rest of the house remain calm  ::)
