I'll moan if I want to  :na: 'they won't hear me  ;) and 'they' won't do anything about my moans and groans anyway!

Even if it were compulsory, 1 can always screw up the paper if 1 doesn't agree with the Politicians' view points.

That's my WHOLE point : if I knew they would stick to what the Electorate wants  ::) then I might be more inclined to believe what they tell us during the run up ……. however  :-X

Think you have to think maybe outside the village.

This is big stuff and to my mind a lot of thought should be given to it. You don't have to vote if you don't want to but my dad taught me to think of it as something that others died for and it was not to be wasted.

Me...I'm voting tactically. It will just about kill me to do it...but needs must up here.

I think I have said before regarding voting that the outcome could be scary. Well I'm back at that point again.
Heaven only knows how this one will go but I'm thoroughly sick of politicians and voting. I have had enough recently to be honest.

So have I.  'they' never seem to come to the fore until Election time.  'they' seem to squabble and bicker like kids in The House rather than getting on with the job.

At least this time round, our local lot seem to be focussing on what they will do rather than what the others won't do...last election I reached gibbering point as each candidate kept saying I should vote for them because the others were so awful...eventually, I felt like voting for the first candidate who clearly stated what he or she would do!!!  I do wish they would give us credit for a little intelligence though...all this stuff promising lower taxes, more money for education, NHS whatever...but no one saying where it is going to come from.  It's obvious that if you make payment increases in one area you have to make cuts in another, but they are all very quiet about that!!!

I'm not worried about the SNP...I've spent most of my life living in very rural English areas, and most political decisions seem to be made with an eye to the big cities anyway.  So I'm not sure SNP getting a lot of power would make much difference to us.

If I have to choose between 'best' local candidate and 'best' party, I choose the individual every time...a local MP you can trust and respect and who will listen to your concerns is worth having.  You can't do much to influence the overall party view, but you can make yourself heard to an individual.

Bored or not, we are fortunate we live in a democratic country, we should embrace that and make our votes count, if not for us but for the next generation. Think of your kids, gran kids nieces and nephews etc what kind of future and opportunities do we want for them.

Regardless of who each of us votes for, on here most of us seem vocal and happy enough to contribute to topics on the forum therefore lets not waste another opportunity to tell the politicians how its going to be and what we want.

We are strong women who have an opportunity to make our voices heard.

Dont waste it.

Rest assured I will be voting ladies. It is very, very important. It's just the constant bombardment of stuff on TV.

Locally there's been zilch. Usually get heaps of election flyers through the door.

My grandmother did much in her area to get women the vote, so know of the importance.

We've had a leaflet in letterbox today for a candidate whose surname is Conway - wonder how many votes he will get !
